When we play Northwestern on the road, it is pretty much a home game for us:

Hey, good point. I totally forgot about that. My biggest worry this year is how a true Freshman QB will handle games in loud and hostile territory. Our first road game at Michigan is very scary for that reason. The Big House is not that loud or intimidating (surprising, given its size) but it is still a huge test for such a young QB's first road game. You have just made me feel better about the NW crowd. Thanks

I know its first game but I wasn't impressed with either team. Purdue has a true freshmen playmaker by the name of Moore who is electric, he is going to be a major pain in the butt for a lot of teams when he touches the ball.

Did you see his studder step moves??? That was a thing of Beauty! I don’t know why they went away from him in the second half?

Better hope Purdue doesn't land Wandale Robinson too. Him and Rondale Moore together would be scary the next few years. Word is that we are 5th or 6th on Wandale's list right now, need to have a great visit to have a chance.

My observations on Purdue:

Moore is a playmaker. Ability to take it to the house every time he touches the ball.

Used 2 QBs. Sindelar threw 3 picks, might have earned him QB2 duties.

Defense is young, but plays aggressive/fast. Lone returning DLineman cost them the game with an unnecessary roughness on a 3rd down stop that would have given Purdue the chance to win on final drive.

Northwestern:
Also used 2 QBs, not sure if Thorsen is 100% yet or not.

Running backs seemed to have huge holes to run through, may be young D.

Scored 21 points off of 3 turnovers-x-factor.

That's a good summary. I saw a Northwestern team with a pretty strong offense and defense, and a Purdue team with 1 great offensive player, a struggling but "you can tell there's something there" offense in general, and an aggressive D that somehow kept getting its *** kicked.

Oh, and those three picks are easily what lost Purdue the game. I think Blough will be the starter going forward. Sindelar isn't there yet. Reminded me of us last year, actually. *GASP*
