21-13 Nebraska, going conservative. Not convinced are OL will be all that improved. Will be hard to run the ball on them. Northwestern will score it’s lone touchdown because of some special teams gaffe.
Nebraska is at least 2 TDs better than Northwestern - on paper. Fitzgerald sounded pretty confident about his team's chances this week. Nebraska will win comfortably but NW covers with a last minute TD+2.
I've yet to see this offense hum. I don't see us scoring more than 28. But the defense is humming and I don't see them allowing more than 14. So... 28 for us, 14+however many points their defense and special teams contribute.
a beam of light appeared to frost and told him to tell the team not to take 3rd quarter siestas.
(no matter how safe a lead looks!)
frost pondered the meaning of this..then realised if NU scores a lot in the 3rd quarter and keep others from scoring..
then dumb martinez interceptions and sofa king we todd did, special team plays in the 4th quarter, do not bring his employment into question
behold a W
The only thing predictable about he huskers offense has been the scoring against FBS
Illinois 22
Buffalo21 (Reimer's INT at the 1)
Oklahoma 16
Michigan state 20
Love the effort the players play with. The whole team is playing hard and fighting. Which is 100 times better than Pelini, Riley teams. The old Nebraska mentality is back and I personally don't mind a couple of dumb penalties as we learn to play with an edge.
I believe we continue to struggle in the Red Zone. Tight windows and stacked boxes will require Adrian Martinez to score with his arm and he struggles. He who hesitates kicks field goals. ( I think that's how the saying goes). Adrian hesitates misses some open receivers and we settle for field goals.
24-21 NW
Game stats will be heavily skewed in Nebraska’s favor, but critical special teams miscues, horrible redzone performance, and NW getting to AM all day without blitzing will cost Nebraska the game.
