Don't quote me, but I am pretty sure there is a Class 3 and Class 4 champion, so Culpeper won't have to beat out Handley for a championship.

I could be wrong. I just went to James Monroe web page and they appear to have a district tournament. Maybe I should pay more attention when our athletic director does his PowerPoint presentations.

There were conference tournaments but not district tournaments. Maybe this year it switches back to district tournaments and then to regional tournament. I’m not sure that’s why i was looking for clarification

I think you might be right. They had district tournaments in volleyball this fall. So maybe other sports will do the same.

Everyone should be going back to district tournaments this year....this is the first year in the new cycle. I know that EV has the Battlefield District Tournament listed on their schedule. Culpeper does not have a district tournament listed as of yet.

Ok. Here is a horse's mouth answer on Northwestern District. Class 3 will not have a district tournament, but Class 4 will. So, I think you can see this will vary district by district, region by region, and in this case, even inside the same district.

Jefferson has always had a tournament, and they will again this year. Then it goes straight to Regionals. It probably varies from district to district, yes.

I think the State Seedings will come from how well teams finish in their districts no matter their Class. The end of season District Tourneys will have no input on seedings. The higher you finish in your district the higher your Seeding for Regional Play. It’s just what I’ve heard from a few coaches.
