Will be interesting to see what strategy Coach Mackey will use on defense.
He knows us better than anyone. Outside of Shelby this is the most athletic
team we play regular season. The coaching staff at Hibriten is well rounded
but seem to be missing that one break away player this year. If they play
smart football they could keep it close.... but if not, it could be a 3 score
difference.

Hickory will get their first win this week. It would be nice to see them get back on track before the season is done. Catawba County football just plain sucks.

Been in the hospital for nine days and recovering at home for a week. Catawba County emergency room doctors need a little more school. Next trip later that afternoon was in an ambulance. Did you know a man can live over seven days without a bite to eat? Wet sponges on a stick are awesome to suck moisture from. Even Catawba County witch doctors can't kill GDG.

Indoor plumbing shutdown. Witch doctors have no idea why. Ruled out cancer for sure. Car wrecks, motorcycle wreck, attempted stabbing, fall from building. I'm like a cat, nine lives. Still got more to go.

I did wonder though if maybe Rulz had a voodoo doll that looked like me and he was jabbing it with an ice pick.

Sorry to hear that GDG. Watched hib freedom JV game freedom won by 2. Freedom ran a single wing the whole game. Now freedom won but that was the most generic offense I've ever seen at that level.

There a year away imo lots of juniors and sophomores on this year's team.

Beamer, we have been known to line up in the stack formation, and run the exact same
play 12 times in a row - on varsity. This works great.... until......you are down by 14
to Shelby and need to score fast. Hopefully new hire Trey Hennessee (ASU) will have more
input in the offense as time goes on.

What's the scoop on Patton? Haven't heard a ton about them other than the Panthers are somewhat improved.

St. Stephens 25- South Caldwell 20 with 4 minutes to go.
Lincolnton 52- Newton 0 in third quarter.
Hickory 35-0 over Fred T Foard in third quarter.

I hear you Beamer. All joking aside, this team has reloaded with equal talent at all positions
for the past six years. Obviously with BJ leaving a lot will change. Looking at Hibriten's
roster and upcoming players, next year should be much closer. I know the passing game
at Hibriten needs work, but I like the fact that Coach Lewis did attempt. You guys will
be fine.

This is true. After the loss at Freedom last week I thought South would destroy St Stephens.
This game could still go either way but I'm now leaning Watauga's way.

SC needed to throw at the end of the game and couldn't. Came out flat and got outplayed by an inferior team. Tons of unsportsmanlike penalties at end of game as well.

South Caldwell can beat 2A teams, even a 3A team with 2A numbers but not even average 3A squads. Two passes a game will be a complete fail come playoff time. Nice people and students but that offense is grade school stuff against real competition.

Sorry beamer24... From what I've seen an heard freedom is only going to reload. The middle school team is stacked. There is also the birchfield kid who is likely the next big time recruit out of freedom at quarterback

Birchfield is the real deal. Hopefully Allen will know what to do with him when
he gets here! You just make sure that line can pass block paws84.

Tuscaloosa had Compton who went on to play at Tennessee when coach Allen was there . Looks like coach knows how to coach to his teams strengths . Should play out just fine

Travis Noland was the coach at Tuscola when Crompton was there - not Allen! Next.......

Paws, how many coaches would leave a 4 star RB in the game, in the 4th qtr,
with a 30+ point lead.... and play him in 4th qtr on defense as well. This is very poor
decision making to say the least.

PS - Have that line ready

Not trying to sound like a smart aleck....it just doesn't make sense. I will go as
far as to say.... if a rushing record (state) is the goal, well ok, but playing defense in
the 4th qtr with a 35pt lead? Where is the discipline?

There were multiple flags at end of game refs ran the remaining 17 seconds off the clock with niether team on the field. Don't know if anyone was ejected.

Gentlemen we are running out of players to send to South Caldwell to help them compete. Zach Pollard and Dickerson quality is getting low. We will need to do border patrol at the Hwy321 bridge next year.
