After an opening season loss to Greensboro Grimsley, a vastly improved and an impressive 4- A squad, the Nighthawks have reeled off three straight victories against 4-A competition, Page, Ragsdale, and a marvelous victory over heated rival Northwest Guilford, 42-10 , Friday at Johnny Roscoe Stadium. Coach Westberg and his staff has these cats swarmin' the ball similar to when soon to be Governor Roscoe roamed the sidelines for the Nighthawks. Northern will entertain winless McMichael Friday and will travel to Northeast Guilford the following Friday before one of the Alamance Twins, Eastern, will sashay over to scenic Johnny Roscoe Memorial Stadium the next Friday. Unless Northeast Guilford can pull an " upset " or two, it appears the top three will be the two Alamance Twins and tuitionless Northern Guilford. Good luck to Coach Westberg and his coaching staff, the players, the volunteers and teaching staff that toil endlessly at Maestro Roscoe Stadium, the raucous student section at Northern ( one of the most entertaining in NC ) , the parents, and all the behind the scenes folks that not only provide and lend their time to every high school stadium on Friday nights, but also provide needed role models for today's sometimes cray cray world.
