Should be a big win. The kids will be stoked once they get on our field tonight. October is cancer awareness month. My hero my Uncle died to cancer back in mid 80’s. He was all conference in basketball in Pamlico county in the 50’s. Played with Sonny Jurgensen on an all star team in NC. Loved to coon hunt. I couldn’t help but think of him as I was mixing paint yesterday for our field. I’m sure most of you here have been affected by it in some way. I hope our community and the people of North Lenoir realize this is all for them!

Great job on the field! My wife and I just went through a battle with Cancer during this off season. My wife is a strong woman, and to see her tears, and in pain, really done something to me. God showed up, and delivered us through those rough months, driving back and forth to Duke Cancer Center. James Kenan coaching staff was so supportive and helped us get through it, I'm so thankful to them for that. My wife rung the bell in July, HALLELUJAH, TO GOD BE THE GLORY. Cancer sucks!!!

I’m glad your wife is doing better. My Uncle was a chain smoker. He had a lung removed one year and got it in his other lung the next year. Died a slow death but he made everything right and was ready when the time came. Talking about his basketball he was around 6’-5” and back then that was a center. Bones McKinney at Wake Forest recruited him heavy. Offers of cash and a car to use to come home and see his high school sweetheart. He opted to get married instead. Together they had 5 girls. He said he never regretted it.
