Hey bunting the ACC has had at least one team in Omaha 26 straight years and placed 4 teams in Omaha in the same year twice ! That's more wins than you had as football coach.
So theres one good team in the ACC every year.....whoopee. Means nothing if the rest of the 10+ teams are cupcakes. The ACC sucks from top to bottom in all three major sports. Enjoy that overranking again as you watch other teams in Omaha.
You ever follow college baseball? The ACC is elite ! Typical year is 2 national seeds, 4 host and a couple teams in Omaha. It seems you don't follow the sport very closely?

Clemson wins 2/3 from the BC eagles which helps and the pack is still alive. If they win the series in Stanford and they should they will be playing for a NCAA bid when they host UNC.
If State wins the series against Stanford they'll only need 1 against us to make the tournament. 15-15 in the league and a top-40 RPI will get them in even with their weak non-conference.
Question what do you guys think? Does Clemson have a shot at a regional? They just won a series vs a ranked BC team . They play ranked FSU at home and a relatively high RPI VA Tech , win those series are the Tigers in?
They win the next 2 series id think they have a solid chance, but would probably atleast need to make it to Sunday if the tournament
8-16 in conference, I think? They'd have to sweep the last two in my opinion.
They have to go 5-1 and/or make a deep conference tournament run.
Their RPI isn't going to matter if they're 12-18 in the ACC and lose before the semis of the tournament.
A sweep of FSU and 2/3 at VT would put them 13 and 17 . RPI would be in the twenty something range. Win two in the ACC tournament that's 15 ACC wins I would think that would be at least in the conversation?
Clemson needs a 5-1 finish to even be in the bubble conversation. 13-17 has them in the conversation. 12-18 no way. Just my opinion.

Their win at Coastal last night will help, but let's not forget that the NCAA left us out in 2016, when we were 15 in the RPI, but 13-17 in the ACC. They only put in SEC teams that finish 13-17, like Kentucky last year.
if Clemson can win the last 3 series they have a shot as they may eliminate VA Tech . They also need Kentucky and Vandy to struggle down the stretch along with NC State and Michigan. Yes it's a long shot they have to win first and then get some help.
First they don't have 3 series left so that's impossible.
Second, they're not getting in if they "just win" the last 2 and finish 12-18 unless they win 3 ACC tournament games.
That's true, but college sports has significantly changed since then. There's fewer conferences to pull at-large teams from. And conference schedules are more unbalanced than ever. I haven't done the digging, but Clemson may be the only ACC team to play GT, UNC, FSU, UVA and BC this year. That will impact your conference record when there's probably 15-15 teams who only played 2 of those teams.
I will always say the only reason we didn't make it in 2016 is the ACC had a silly 10-team conference tournament, we were 11th (via a tiebreaker IIRC), and the committee was able to fall back on faulty "if they didn't make their conference tournament they shouldn't make the NCAAs" logic.
Yeah, the infamous season where the 16 host teams were RPI 1-14, 16, and 17. So RPI mattered for everyone except us. That was part of the silent ncaa sanctions.
My bad what I meant to say is it would be 3 straight series wins for Clemson. The BC series and FSU and VT . I think they have a shot and if they keep winning it helps our strength of schedule as we don't play FSU or VT .
Yep, that was their convenient excuse to penalize us for the ongoing NCAA witch hunt into the academic "scandal". They also cited our lackluster 5-5 finish to the season, while overlooking our season opening series win at UCLA, and the series sweep of an Oklahoma State team that ended up in Omaha.
The pack lost game 1 at Stanford. I would say the next two games are about must win for them . Clemson had to win out the last 5 ACC games to even get on the bubble and UVA is struggling.
I really hope State loses at least one more to Stanford and then UNC can deliver the dagger to their postseason hopes next weekend.
That would be great, except that if they drop the series to Stanford, they will have additional incentive... if that is possible... to win the series against us, in an attempt to salvage their NCAA tourney chances.

lol came back and won yesterday so today's game with Stanford should be a high scoring affair. Clemson is like the old song staying alive as they came back and beat FSU , win today vs the noles and a sweep of VT would put them in the conversation.
