Does the win change anything for you guys in regards to whether you think Holgs should stay? Certainly a loss would have helped continue the argument that he is not meeting expectations, but an 8 win season after playing a very tough schedule isn't bad, all things considered.

But then there's the lack of a marquee QB after all these years, conference record, bowl record, etc, etc.

Also, wasn't this sort of a pinnacle season for Holgs? I mean, don't you lose a bunch of starters and have quite a few unknowns going into next year? If coach dude can build on this 8-win season then that would be ideal, but if next year is somewhat of a rebuilding year, then that doesn't seem likely to happen?

I don't know if Howard is the answer at QB. We haven't seen all our young QBs yet, so we can't say whether any of them are future stars or busts.

Holgorsen does have a track record of having QBs break out in their second year as a starter in his system, so who knows.

As far as Holgorsen staying or leaving, right now who is available to replace him that is realistic for WVU? You get what I am saying? Herman is waiting for Strong to be fired. Kelly is a zero percent shot he would ever come here.

Since he will obviously be back next year, it is prudent to see how next year plays out before deciding he is gone. We could have easily been 10-3 this year had we not blown wins late against Oklahoma State and Kansas State. If he can get over that hump of poor game calling with a lead late in the game, he should do okay.

We have most of our offense back next year, so that should improve some, especially our passing game with an experienced Howard and a more experienced wr corps.

Our defense will lose some key guys, but our reserves saw a decent amount of action, so it won't be a return to our first year in the B12 hopefully.

Our non conference schedule is tougher next year, but we hopefully won't have a nightmare October schedule like this years, and hopefully we don't lose our best player and team leader 4 games into the season in 2016. The guys Holgorsen recruited in his second year here are going to be the team leaders, as opposed to holdover recruits from Stews final class ( that he never got to coach). So we will see really for the first time what a team full of Dana's guys can do.

This will also be the third year with Gibson as DC, which is good for young guys that are trying to learn to play in games. We had a new DC every year the first few years under Dana, which set our player development on that side of the ball back quite a bit.

To sum it all up, I guess we just have to wait it out and see what happens.
