I dunno. Most of Iowa's transfers over the last few years have worked out as one might reasonably expect:
  • Calliendo has been great for them.
  • Franek wrestled 1 year for Iowa and finished 8th at NCAA, right in line with expectations.
  • Woods had title aspirations that fell short, but finished 2nd and 3rd at NCAAs in two seasons with Iowa. Pretty good.
  • Buchanon won an NCAA title in his single season with Iowa.
  • Parco was pretty much exactly what one would expect (a mid-AA type), until he got hurt late in the season and failed to place at NCAAs. That injury was unfortunate for them.
  • Teemer was an injury waiting to happen, and it did.
  • We'll see how Bailey and Williams work out. Both are good wrestlers but probably not the high AA guys that HR wants/hopes them to be.
I'm sure there are others I'm missing. A couple guys fell short due to injuries, but most of the Iowa transfers have performed in line with reasonable expectations. It's just that some (most?) of the HR clowns expect these guys to come in and become NCAA finalists.
Lots of excuses in this post - not that there is anything wrong with that, I’m happy for Bob and company to keep trotting them out for TnT.

Yup, if they didn’t get injured, they would have been better. Yup, after Franek finished 8th, in retrospect maybe he wasn’t the NC contender everyone thought he would be. Maybe Woods wasn’t really good enough to win a NC (even though he made a World team after he left Iowa).

i hope this goes on forever.

Heck, finalist? They expect championships from everybody and doom and gloom it when they fall short of first.

Nasir Bailey **was** the high AA they're looking for -- finished 4th at Little Rock.

Now he looks like a guy who might take 4th at the conference tourney if things go well.

Is Iowa getting less out of him than Little Rock did? Or did they choose to throw a bag at someone who might have peaked?

Plus he's the better of the two Little Rock imports, and hasn't gotten arrested.

If tech gets him they will be sneaky good for a while like ohio st this year. Nc state is gonna be far in the rear view compared to VT maybe even without knox.

Is Mills a projected 125 in college or more likely a 133? I can see Davino going up to 141 after Mendez is done. Knox, Mills, and Davino in a row would be pretty tough.
They also have Munaretto coming in.

If Cornell uninvites you because of legality issues, you should probably be somewhat compromising with your initial NIL demands with other top notch programs.
According to Cornell Kevin, it wasn’t just the pending legal issues. Knox needed to meet a certain GPA at Fingers Lake Community College in order to get admitted and he failed to do so. Interesting if true.

Confusing and interesting (if true).

You can‘t get good grades at FLCC, and expect to go to Cornell? I would have thought his grades would be above average for Cornell to be interested in the first place. But if you can’t get good grades at FLCC, clearly your head isn’t in the game.

The was once a VERY good kid at PSU who made it in by like a decimal point followed by a 01 gpa after multiple tutors worked with him.

A glorified slap on the wrist. And FWIW, I still can't believe a judge forced the NJSIAA to allow him to wrestle at States last year (his senior year).

Sentenced to 4 to 5 years at Rutgers.
