We are an average team with a bad coach just like last two years. I am ready for change. I can’t believe we didn’t try to score one more time. Lord knows we need the practice and momentum. Mike is a terrible little weenie of a coach post 2023. I am so ready for him to be gone.

I punished myself and watched the game to see how it looked on TV vs being there. Looked pretty bad there though you miss some wide open receivers Daniels did not throw.

I am now revising my prediction to 3 wins and Mike fired after Miami game.

The murmured optimism folks had was unfounded because both lines practicing against on another looked better than they actually are playing against one another. They say steel sharpens steel. Well we were actually wood and did not sharpen crap. Fact is our lines are mediocre.

And at the position of most importance, Daniels clearly is a practice all American who then puckers in games. When the lights come on, he suddenly gets tunnel vision and scared to make throws unless wide open receivers….when he sees them …which is not often. Also he was slow to make choice and run. He looked like a redshirt freshman making his first start vs what was supposed to be a seasoned veteran.

A bad QB and and bad lines on both sides of ball equals a long season. Outside of 22-23 it’s also exactly how all Norvell’s teams have been here in 20-21 and 24-26.

I now view 22-23 now as two lucky happenings:

1) the unexpected blossoming of a diamond in the rough QB in J Trav, who Mike inherited and sat on bench a lot in 20 and 21

2) Mike doing amazing work in the infancy of portal transfer but out of desperation due to inability to recruit. That advantage is gone now that everyone is using portal.

Most irritating of all his failures is the inability to recruit or portal QBs. Neither in portal nor out of high school has he landed one solid QB and the entire 7 seasons we have had nobody good besides Travis and worse just massively thin on back ups. It’s pretty incredible you look at the failed QBs who started here his 7 years besides Jordan Travis, a player he inherited.
