As far as I can tell, Kentucky has never really been in the main hunt for Baldwin. We are on his list for the same reason we are on every kid's list as soon as we offer them. That's fine. To me, hiring Jai Lucas is the biggest news so far this year. It will pay dividends.

Banchero is the truth. ****, kids balls out. Made Baldwin look silly today. He will be end up being the number 1 player for 2021. Legit. Very legit.

Thought it was interesting that Eric Bossi mentioned he watched Banchero vs Baldwin Jr and really wasn't impressed with either player. Said Banchero's improved his physique/gotten stronger but was intent on playing outside and shot 5 of 16 from the field while Baldwin Jr had a mediocre stat line.

The jump of players who were in this class to '20 or the G-League has created a massive drop in talent heading the class. Spring of '19 Kuminga dropped 40+ on Jalen Johnson, Brakefield, Baldwin Jr and was head and shoulders above them. They outnumbered him and had better team but Kuminga made the discussion o best player in his class or those ahead of him in '20 laughable.

This class lacks depth and star power. There are a lot of kids who wouldn't be top 20 in '20 or '22 class that are top 10 or higher. The loss of Banchero has to do with fact UK liked him, recruited him a long time and some media members ran with an angle of hype created on an official visit/exciting weekend. This isn't losing out on a lock #1 in Draft pick. He's a good player who will be a good college player.

Baldwin Jr is a skilled guy who is a nice perimeter player. He never should be a #1 prospect in any class and if he is, speaks to the lack of talent in a class then it does to his ability.

Gonna be average class years. Certainly wish we had gotten Banchero though, but look forward to seeing what Cal and Lucas now cook up.
