I've already seen a mock draft or two that has him going in the first round. I would have thought Riley and Langs would have loved a TE with good speed. I can't remember if he received a Nebraska offer. ???

He could have been a good fit in Scott Frost's offense.

Of course he would have been, but that ship has sailed.

Nebraska offered. Nebraska wanted him at DE and Noah wanted to play TE, late in the game Nebraska told him he could start out at TE, but that ship had already sailed. Too bad, he's a heck of a player.

Was Bo hoping Fant would wait or walk on if he was still here or what happened. I do remember that we came in really late, came really close to flipping him to stay home but came up short. He was going to visit, Kirk and there retarded “no visit” rules they had in place was almost tested... and if I remember right, he backed out of said visit and was all Iowa then. If we could have gotten that visit, he’d been ours.

It was basically "well we'll take you as a DE but not TE" until Riley took over. So much for Bo's evaluation of offensive talent.

Massive botch by Pelini. Rivals rated Fant as the #1 recruit Neb that year, 26th rated TE overall, and a 5.7 3*. That kid's committment should have been locked up early and then the psn issues could have been sorted out later.

Agreed, certainly over Nebraska, unless we prove otherwise going forward.
Um no. We have multiple guys who were undrafted free agents playing in the O line in the NFL as well as Spencer Long who was a highly drafted walk on. Noah Fant was going to play in the NFL if had gone to Bemiji State. Io_a still sucks.
