No way East Surry is #2 in 2A

East must have dropped a big ole turd in TD’s brain.
Some can't take the fact that East Surry can and would hang with MA in a head to head match up this year. They have a waaaaaay more polished offense that would score points...The game would definitely be a toss up..and one I wouldn't wanna miss.
East is well coached and the offense last 3 years has been like a machine against competition in the area.
East is better than maybe 90% of the 2A teams but I could not see them as the #2 seed. They did beat Reidsville in 2019 by 55-49 and win the Ship 2019 then lost to Reidsville this spring 48-14. Then there are 3 or 4 other 2A teams as good as Reidsville. If they had been RPI 6th like they were 1 or 2 weeks before I would not have posted this. I wish East Surry good luck in 2A as well as Mount Airy in 1A. They have always been the teams to beat for many years in this area.

East will be fine on the line but Salisbury,Reidsville and Shelby are just going to be too fast and deep to win those games. Maiden and Hendersonville may surprise everybody.
Get back to 1a football all you want. Neither line is very good. Fat kids with no strength. Make them get in the weight room. That's what they needed to do. I've seen them seven times this year. Been very dissatisfied. Unlike some of the other teams that are undefeated we don't have any strength upfront just mass. So while Boaz in my opinion is one of the top three quarterbacks in the state. And makes a lot of plays. By pulling it down and rushing when his line that is inferior doesn't block for him. Defensively we are terrible. Hell if a couple of teams would have kept running the ball like they should have on us and hadn't have gotten pass Happy we would have had to about scored them. Speaking specifically of forbush. While I love my team I've never been sold on these coaches. Particularly the head coach. Snake in the grass. He knows it you know it if you think about it. So yeah it will be a blowout. They'll be no one for him to throw to and everyone will track him down. But you know so much football. Regardless we can all quit talking about it but you're wrong.
I have always pulled for the area 1A, 2A teams and for years posted scores for all the teams in the 3 local conferences. If Mount Airy lost in the playoffs, I kept posting the scores for all 3 conferences, NWC, MVAC & WPAC . I stopped about 2 years ago because I had 4 or 5 screens up searching for scores and could go through them rather quickly and post the score as fast as a school got a TD. I used Twitter 2 and 3 streaming radio and Bishop streaming their own games and some teams from MaxPrep but it was not always reliable. So It finally got confusing and I started to slow down and just could not keep up, so I tried to just do the NWC and did for a year and stopped. 2019 after Mount Airy lost in the playoffs I pulled for East Surry and got Flak from several for still pulling for East Surry and it was not from the Mount Airy posters but people pulling my chain. I have about to let my chain be pulled too much but want again . Say all y'all want negative just to get a response and it will be ignored.

Honest question, why do people hate East Surry so much as well as coach lowman?
They hate him because he has lifted the program higher than it's ever been. There have been great coaches at East Surry with loads of talent..but couldn't bring home the state championship hardware or even get to the title game..This guy Lowman achieved what others couldn't..and he did it in a short amount of time. Easy to hold on to legendary coaches like Diamont and BW Holt..they set their successors up for state titles shortly after they left.
Not sure what that means..but Lowman will and should be respected for putting ES on the map..as far as titles. Lots of respect to ES..but in the past..they underachieved in the playoffs..and they had perrennial talent every year for 1a.
Diamont was one dimensional , loved the ground and pound game . His downfall was the 15 team I believe , he had a hell of a team and a very good qb in Tyler smith , that many thought should have played for the state title , but he stuck to his same ole game and it cost them . That was in many opinions his downfall.
15 team should have been there , won it I dunno but they were talented .Diamont was his way or no way . They never had a superstar back that could dominate , Joey ray got several small yardage plays but they should have mixed it up . Tyler Smith could run and had a monster arm at qb , think he ended up at East Carolina on a baseball scholarship.
So basically the haters don't like lowman because he replaced diamont? Coaches can't coach forever lol
Sad smh. He earned my respect during this past seasons state title game. One of tarboros player's got hurt during a play and he came out onto the field to check on him as our coaches were attending to him. Mind you coach lowmans team was down 3 possessions at this point so he didn't have to do that but he did.
Not only did he replace him...He won a state championship promptly with them. Some are bitter instead of grateful.
Is that the team that lost to Walkertown? If so I was on the visiting sidelines. And that was a tough loss for sure for East Surry. Smith was a player.
That 15 team was good. Both are good coaches but they don't beat Tarboro without that offense and Lowman has to get credit for that. But the talent will not always be there in Pilot. Got to take advantage when you get it.
That was a once in a lifetime talent. One of the best offenses ever in 1A without question.
Yep , they had already beaten them earlier in the season , but they say it’s hard to beat someone twice . People think he blowed that game really and should have adjusted to their edge rusher , he ran free all nite .
That East Surry team was very good , they had a big strong line , two very good receivers in creed and Marion . They weren’t as explosive as the 19 team but should have went deep into the playoffs. There is no doubt with the 19 team , if Diamont was there he would have lost that title game against tarboro, he’s way too conservative . The past 2 meetings at south stokes he kept trying the run against East , gaining hardly nothing . I guess he thinks he can wear teams down and beat them late lol .
I understand if you don’t have a decent qb and receivers , you are going to be a run heavy team but 15 had all that , Diamont lost that game for those kids. That’s exactly where his downfall started 300 wins or not , high school ball has evolved a lot from that straight ground and pound . You play against a good passing and running team you’re going to have trouble .
The past few seasons I have seen some damn good qbs in nc , Boaz from East surry , Pinnix from Reidsville and the kid from pine lake prep to name a few .
East Surry will be a hard out for a lot of teams this season , I think the tarboro game really grew Boaz at East . Now as a junior there’s no doubt at this point he’s better than his brother was , way quicker.
I know this is 1A board, but I thought East Surry had one of the most impressive wins tonight, beating Newton-Conover 30-6. On a night ES wasn't sharp, it was their defense that was impressive as they held N-C to 6 pts. The business-like approach was impressive to me as the kids didn't press or panic when things weren't going as easy as planned. N-C is rich in history and if you look at their schedule, they gave the likes of Maiden, West Lincoln, Bunker Hill all they could handle. This def. wasn't an easy 1st round match-up for ES. Kudos and I think they are going to be a really, really tough out.
Congratulations to our neighbors east of Mt Airy!! Now if North Surry can play as they have the past couple of weeks and get a win tomorrow night.

Played in a conference, and was beaten by, 3 teams that advanced last night to 2nd round. Plus, they held an N-C offense that was avg. 250 plus to under 80 total yards and scored 2 defensive TD's. N-C was not your typical 3-7 #31 seed and EVERYONE knows it. I pull for both ES and MA as I have great friends who coach on both sidelines, but I can also laugh at the fact that MA was up 61-0 at the half and ES had to really grind out a win by playing steady, as usual, all night long. The halftime scores for both games should tell you the level of competition each was playing. If you don't think ES winning was more impressive, well, it may be personal and nothing else. Again, I pull for both because I respect the heck out of the coaches on both teams. Good luck to both ES/MA and ALL teams advancing.
While still not sure why talking about East Surry on a 1A board , I will say I haven't ( unless I just missed it) a lot of complaining from them being the smallest 2A in the West playoffs the East has 2 or 3 smaller ones. But @ 588 they're playing teams that are 220+ bigger then them if they win their next game they could meet Monroe @ 1006 in the 3rd round a 418 student difference.
East Surry will always be talked about on the 1A board just like 1A/2A teams are. If you take a look at the 2A board you will see no talked about local 2A teams, East Surry, North Surry, or Forbush all past teams of the NWC over the years North Surry in Mount Airy and East Surry 10 minutes South of Mount Airy and also Mount Airy vs East Surry and North Surry has been rivalry games for around 60 years North Surry the full 60 years and East Surry more so the last 15 to 20 years .
I don’t think is has anything to do with him replacing him. It could have been anyone. From what I have heard their is a clear divide in Pilot Mountain over how Diamont was let go, I believe a select few made that decision and hard feelings are still lingering over this. Has nothing to do with Trent Loman, he is just caught in that situation. Everything I’ve seen though he does a heck of a job and has brought ES update.
Idk man I've seen a lot of hate on here towards lowman for some reason. I've heard diamont was done dirty idk how true it is.
If Lowman is happy at ES why did he Interveiw for S Irredell job this summer? Lowman is a good coach but look what talent he inherited. 2019 was most talented team in ES History. I think he sees talent getting ready to drop off after this year. As for Diamond the stadium is named after him and he was done dirty. He told us at game at SS one night that he was really hurt by how he was done but had moved on. He was forced out by a few rich idiots in a political move at ES. Money talks evidently and politics is bad in Pilot Mtn.
