Hence the inherent unfairness but many don’t want to hear… shame.

1000%. That would be like us moving our home game against Indiana to Indianapolis.
Aah not quite. Most of these BIG schools get some type of support from the NYC Metro area; either alums living, monetary contributions, NYC media exposure, etc. All schools in the BIG want a piece of that maybe not to the point of giving up a home game but maybe if they could work out having their school get at least 50% of the tickets I think many of these schools would consider for a piece of the Big Apple exposure.

No other BIG market adds to the RU brand like NYC adds to every other BIG school’s brand.

As a side note, I brought three friends to the game yesterday. One RU alum, one MSU alum whose originally from Michigan and the other a Wisc alum whose also from Michigan. The two Mich folks were shocked at size of RU presence in the Garden yesterday. One lives in Manhattan and the other in DC and they weren’t prepared to see 90% of crowed be RU fans. Told them no surprise here. Only P5/AAU state university within a couple 100 miles of NYC. The only thing we’ve been missing is a platform like the BIG and consistent winning. Told him this area is all about winners and if RU wins, the affiliated and unaffiliated will come out and support RU.

GO RU

It is clearly an advantage for Rutgers. That's the point. Do you think Baylor (for example) would agree to a "neutral site" OOC game against Rutgers at MSG without any return game? It would be as ludicrous as us agreeing to play Duke or UNC in Greensboro for a "neutral site" OOC game without a return game.

The idea that what everyone saw yesterday was a "neutral site" game is ridiculous. Regardless whether their cheerleaders came or MSU was introduced pre-game.

The unfairness is that Northwestern isn’t forced to play Rutgers at the United Center. Purdue and Indiana aren’t forced to give up their home court advantage to play at the Pacer’s arena. Michigan and MSU aren’t forced to the Palace. Maryland doesn’t play RU where the Wizards play. They would never give up home court advantage. Why make Rutgers do it and do it repeatedly? Also have to acknowledge competitive disadvantage which the B1G official admits oops we didn’t think of that. And then you hear contract is up and not even sure it will happen again? And to rip posters for bringing this up? SMH. Garden is fine and fun… not for conference games. Why is this so difficult a concept?

Fair point. I was just considering the competitive side of things.

You have to look at the whole deal. Rutgers was to play 3 games at MSG with 2 being home games and 1 being a road game. It was a fair ask of the conference and that agreement with Rutgers helped the B1G get a B1G tournament at MSG. Back when we sucked it was a fair deal, now that we are good for Rutgers to play 3 games at MSG with 2 games being "home games" and 1 being a "road game" is a deal Rutgers should make over and over and over again with the league. The B1G will never offer us this deal again as no team would agree to it. It turned out to be a great deal for Rutgers. Great. Why is this so difficult a concept?
