Per today's Steve Jones Show, starting in 2027 the season will begin the Saturday before Labor Day weekend Saturday. Week Zero will become Week One and teams will have 14 weeks to play 12 games. Two bye-weeks for all. (If you don't schedule a non-conference game in Week One and your conference doesn't schedule you a conference game in Week One, then you will really only have one bye-week.)
To avoid the Big Ten scheduling us a conference game in Week One, we should immediately be trying move one of our non-conference games to Week One.
