It doesn’t matter what he has been. It is tournament time and the only thing that matters now is doing everything you can to win. I don’t think this guy needs to play a single minute. We have plenty of bigs and Edwards and Thiero can play 20 minutes each at the 4.
Ummmm, tell Cal that?

Otherwise, don't be dumb.

Calm down with the "you guys" stuff.

I have always supported Wagner and Edwards. Please find once that I have not....just once

In fact I'm always accused of being a sunshine pumper.

Mitchell has not been good for a while.

We got into the SEC schedule and he is just overwhelmed athletically

He's just OK and we have better options than just OK
Mitchell was fine until he missed about 3 weeks. Overwhelmed athletically? We beat UNC when we didn't have a big. He carried us on the inside for weeks.

It is not true that we beat UNC without a big.

I was at that game. BRADSHAW AND ONYENSO both played against UNC.

Bradshaw had 12 points and game sealing free throw

I think he is best as a stretch 5. Cal won't play him in that role with the 3 other centers on the roster, however.

When he lost his dribble and would not grab the ball I had to wonder if he even knew where he was. You shouldn't be playing if you do that.

Mitchel kept this team afloat while the freshman and big guys got healthy. He got injured and needs to work his way back. We're gonna need him.
We don’t need him at all. Really. If he doesn’t play in any more games that will increase our chances of winning those games. That’s where we are.

Many announcers were calling Mitchell our most important player for the longest time which I always thought was strange. I would have guessed Reed, Reeves, Dilly were our 3 most important players now you can add Edwards to that mix.

He is still shaking off some rust. Hopefully he will come around, but he needs to play sparingly until he is back in synch.
Hopefully! He could be another weapon. One we don’t really have. A big that can distribute the basketball. However, I’m afraid he’s just been exposed for his minimal athleticism. That and he plays a lazy *** type game.

We have 6 days off until next game. Let's give him a chance n the sec tourney in spot minutes. If he can find his offense it gives us another bench weapon.

I agree he hasn't looked good since he returned and even before. I know he's had a couple annoying injuries though. Back and shoulder injuries can linger.

We have a lot of fans who seem to get some kind of sick joy out of trashing our players.

He gives us nothing that other guys cannot. Everything he does, somebody else does better and more athletically.
He really did nothing but I will say he’s moving better but he’s still not healthy. Be nice to have him back.

Wasn’t this the same argument people were making about Edwards a month ago?

Not so sure about the fan part…

We may need a thread to rage about the fact that Reed missed 3 3s yesterday!!!

Mitchell proved his worth to the team before he got injured. He will emerge as a key player during the NCAA tournament as he continues to recover. Fortunately, other players have stepped up in his absence. You can never have too much depth during the tournament, and this is one of the deepest UK teams in a long time.

Mitchell is an undersized 5. He’s not any good at the power forward spot, but he’s overmatched at the 5 against high major 5s. Mitchell’s drop off correlates to moving him to the 4 as much as it does to the injury. He’s an anchor type player and he’s not quite big enough or gas enough now that every game is so competitive. He’s a great player/coach though and still serves an important role in that capacity.

The only place Mitchell fits is as a small ball 5. The guy simply cannot play the 4. So if we’re not finding minutes for him at the 5, sorry bud. He’s hurting the team when we put him out there at forward.

I rewatched the game this morning. I knew Tre had a rough game but focusing on him again, holy hell he was awful. Out of position, slow, minimal effort, air balling shots…..he had a terrible game.

Boy oh boy you got to love BBN. You guy's are brutal but admire how we call ish as we see it. Not sure WTF is going on with Mitchell. He has definitely regress and not playing with the same vigor or enthusiasm. Hopefully the coaches can get to the root problem and challenge his *** to step up. This is your last year of college basketball quit playing like a P%$&Y and step the F-UP!
