Why stop there? Can we also make the calendar 13 months, 28 days each? We can name the new month “Smarch.”
Wait... just slow down. My birthday is on the winter solstice. Does it stay there and I have to learn a new date or does it move to the new Dec. 21st... which would be the old Xmas Eve but did Xmas move to the new Dec 25???? Which would put it four days before New Year's Eve which can't move. Can it? 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

This is so dumb. If you can’t handle an hour time change 2x a year, you suck and I hope you hit a deer on the way to work, on a motorcycle.
If they don't change, I hope you hit one on the way home. See how that works?

If you are going to keep one time going all year, it should be standard time. There is a reason it is called that, and it worked for decades before DST took over the country.

Why would a deer be riding a motorcycle, and where is it working?

Also, latitude factors in as much if not more than longitude.
Are you willing to share the state you live in or the latitude? I live in SW Iowa and it's never dark at 4 pm winter or summer. Also time zone matters as well as latitude.

Before DST and standardized time zones, Americans lived at a much more localized pace where days were strictly governed by sunrise and sunset rather than a universally ticking clock.

I guess you guys want to go back to working sunrise to sunset

They want to go back in time as much as possible. Any progress we have made since the end of the civil war, they want it rolled back.

Go luv yourself! I hate springing forward. Takes me at least two weeks to adjust. I love falling back, my body feels like I'm gaining time and precious sleep for well over a week. Don't hate the playa, hate the game!

I have lived in places far further north in the Continental US and there are days where it is dark at 4:00.

Not many places get dark at 4:00 or earlier.

Contrast that with the number of places that would be still be dark at 8 am when most students are arriving at school with Daylight Saving Time.
