Lose games @ILL in OT, vs. Iowa on a ridiculous buzzer beater, and vs. PSU in a let down game and now @IU in the season finale are getting beaten by a team who thinks they can still make the NCAAs while we’re playing like we don’t care if we play on the first day of the B1G tournament.

Win any one of these four games and we finish outside of the bottom four, lose all four games and we deserve our fate in the bottom four.

p.s. it seems like we’re on the way up, but when you end up finishing in the bottom four of the B1G it diminishes our perceived (or real) success this season. The pressure is on the make day 2 otherwise growth we believe we’ve had this season may not be as much as we thought.

Being a Rutgers fan requires tremendous patience with very little reward over decades of watching.

It’s heartbreaking knowing that we were literally TWO PLAYS away from being 9-11. A one in a million shot by Iowa and four missed shots in the last possession against PSU.

Two plays.

I agree

That’s why I don’t think if we lose in the 1st round you can take anything away from what we accomplished this year.

But here’s hoping we win that one just to avoid such talk.

Honestly, After watching a lot of Big10 basketball this past week, I still see a big talent gap between us and just about everyone else.

I mean really we did finished tied for 10th, we're just seeded 12th in the tourney because of tiebreakers.

Exactly

Purdue and MI State finished tied for 1st.

Purdue is not going to tell recruits they finished in 2nd.
They won a SHARE of the regular season title.

We finished tied for 10th, not 12th.

Yes, exceeded expectations for the regular season. Primary disappointment is that Pikiell’s roster couldn’t make it through 3 seasons without criminal charges. The results after the win at Iowa are just so R.U. RU kids just don’t seem to be able to mentally handle even minor success. A win or two and positive momentum for the program on campus and in the media is inevitably followed by failing to show up for a first half or playing with any sense of poise. Any money in Hobbs’ budget for a department shrink?

Rutgers basketball is DEFINITELY on the way up, and the rest of the B1G knows it. Every season since Coach Pikiell has arrived, your team has been demonstrably better. by a lot. In my view he should win coach of the year for his body of work.

Don't forget about the RPI-killer teams from your first year in the B1G. So much progress. It's less about B1G share of revenue and more about running programs in the right way, in my opinion...

This year : Better, but not good. Good is a winning record at a minimum. Need shooters. 60+ pts per game is nowhere good enough.
