I’ve been saying this for a long time, however, if you’re not a great shooting team it’s very difficult to step on teams throats. Take this team for what it is and love it!!!
Check this out. It kinda goes against what you're saying compared to the rest of the B1G. Notices the teams who are near the top of the B1G. There is a correlation to success in the B1G this year when you examine the chart.

I don't think the OP is miserable, a whiner, or a bad fan. He merely observed that the team has given up big leads and turned the last two games into nail biters Not good for my blood pressure.

I get why you are saying what you are saying but you need to stay grounded. These were the kinds of Games we would lose previously - so a win is a win and i'll take it. If someone told you we would be undefeated at home at the end of January, you'd have bet a billion dollars at the start of the season against that.

Of course you take the win. Woulda liked to step on their throat though.

Yeah of course, but **** happens. This team is good enough to dance, i dont think they're good enough right now that we should be expecting a final four though and thats kind of the difference between escaping with some wins vs stepping on throats. And if you look at how young this team actually is, we might be setting some lofty throat slitting expectations for next year.

In fact squeaking out some Wins builds toughness and character which we'll need on the road.

Just wondering if you watch a lot of basketball......which essentially is a game of runs. These are good teams RU is playing.......RU's last win and only previous win against Purdue was over 50 years ago.....and now you are frustratwd we didnt blow them out. Lol.

i never said I was frustrated because we didn’t blow a team out. I was frustrated cause we almost dropped another huge lead

Agree. In the long run closer wins are more beneficial than blowout la

This ended up being quite a pile on which might have been exacerbated by some of the OP’s replies. OP is like a celebrity who didn’t get the clarification/retraction out in the first news cycle.

Yah probably coulda been more clear in my OP. But my point remains the same:

Team has blown large leads the last two games. And that’s not good.

Of course the outcomes ended up good..not my point of thread.

Signing off all (but not going to bed). See y’all at the Garden!!

Because you made a thread about not winning by enough against a top 20 KenPom team ...you're shooting yourself in the foot and need to just shut the **** up and go to bed

My thread was about blowing a lead. Not about a margin of victory.

Go RU!

This is the exact game Rutgers has lost the past 30 years.

OP you suck.
Man, you guys are way over the top harsh. His concern is valid. We didn't have a bucket over the last 5-6 minutes and it looked like no one wanted to make a play. We kinda got baled out on the McConnell fall down foul.

Glad as hell we won these last 2 but we really need someone to step up with less than 2 minutes to go and knock down a big shot or penetrate and find someone for an easy hoop - before we give up the lead.

Purdue didn't have one over the last 4 minutes. It's all balanced out in the end.:Laughing

Teams are making adjustments to our D in the 2nd half. This is 2 games in a row that we haven't had an answer. Don't get me wrong, you play for 40 minutes and we won. I'm happy, but my heart cannot take much more of this!!!! I would enjoy going up 17 and adding to it!!!!!

We are in the toughest league in the country where 12 teams are rated in the top 40 in the country out of 353 D-1 schools. Other teams are good too. We are 7-3 in conference when several doubted before the season that we wouldn,t even get 7 wins. Some said we might only get 5 wins. I am enjoying the ride. This sure beats going 1-17 in the BIg like we were just 4 years ago. Steve has made us very respectful once again. It has been a long time for many of us who have been fans for a very long time.

It’s not about killer instinct. It’s about making plays and the other team working pretty damn hard too. From my vantage our shot selection probably wasn’t quite as good as you would want in the stretch that Purdue made the run, but that’s just basketball - has nothing to do with “killer instinct”.
