Given the typical home-field advantage of around a field goal, for similarly ranked teams, it is practically a pickem game?

As always, I reserve the right to modify my prediction as we get closer to game time.

Don’t allow Iowa to run their QB between the tackles. He’s not fast enough to consistently get outside and turn the corner and is basically a traditional pocket passer when throwing as I think their OL is good enough that they don’t have to roll him out much.

Why, because they have a better defense.

RU has a better offense. But they can run the ball and control the clock.

Couple lucky bounces for RU on special teams though and that could win it.

Iowa 24-17.

It’s not what I want but what I think we’ll get. For the exact same reasons. I shared with some friends the other day that I think Greg will dial up the punt block pressure. Get a big special teams play and we’ll win.

Iowa is a traditional B1G Ten team that wants to control the line of scrimmage .I excect them to gain big yardage with power running .In contrast Rutgers needs a passing attack with short slant passes and longer pass completions over 20 yards. This is a must win to gain league respect and achieve at least four conference wins. Rutgers 31-Iowa 28..

No. It we go 6-0 then we will start getting some votes.
So- a team like Navy is getting votes after 3 wins against no one- and we have to be 6-0 with wins against Iowa and road wins against Minn/Wash to just start getting votes. Maybe if ND can lose another game this week to go 0-3, they may only get a handful of votes lol

Week 1 - I was a little off. Didn’t give their quarterback enough credit (41-17)
Week 2 - nailed it
Week 3 - almost nailed it (55-10???)

Week 4 Black Friday atmosphere pays off:

Hawkeyes 24
Scarlet Knights 30

RU 24 Iowa 21 Game is tight back and forth, a blocked Point after towards end of the 4th keeps the game from going into OT, crowd storms the field! Its Pandamonium in Piscataway!

Navy has been pretty decent over the years and I'm sure the people who are voting for them either follow them or have voted for them in the past. IMO we don't have a built in bias like that so we have to go above and beyond other teams before the voters notice us.

I just feel like with Strong, Campbell, and Needam status a complete unkown, it's hard to pick RU. My hope is that we get the Friday night magic and Iowa shoots themselves in the foot several times the way Washington did.

This is an interesting match up again to kickoff off Big Ten for both programs.

First team to 25 points likely wins this one. Taking from Bill Connelly 🤔

Iowa's special teams are pretty good.

Top RS returning in College Football, solid senior placekicker and solid sophomore punter. Rutgers has a very optimistic special teams corp themselves. Both head coaches have similar ties. Kirk Ferentz has always placed a high emphasis on special teams.

So, who stands out on Friday night❓️

Iowa State had a dominant NG who clearly is outstanding. What will Iowa see on Friday night from the Rutgers front 7 on defense 🤔

Rutgers is better at QB than first 4 games in this series, which Iowa has won each of them. Hawkeyes favored by 2.5 to 3.5 on road.

Both teams won their Big Ten openers last year. Iowa won at Minnesota 31-14, while Rutgers beat Washington 21-18. Iowa held Washington to 16 points last year, while the Hawkeyes scored 40 in the win in Iowa City.

Both teams have been impacted by injuries on offense. Iowa may get a key player back since the 1Q of Week 1.

Iowa 27
Rutgers 24
is what Massey Ratings are suggesting 🤔

How much does Iowa benefit from already playing a hostile road opponent in the P4❓️

Go Hawks ✌️

I don't feel good about hearing nothing about these three guys. That can't be good

I personally believe Rutgers will lose even if they play, but if all three are out this will be a blowout loss. Or maybe I should say "lopsided loss" since Iowa's offense isn't really capable of putting up huge points even against a terrible defense like ours.
