Lol. This is the bottom line problem with cal. He develops them for the nba not to fit our system at UK. Do we want draft picks or friggin titles??? I take zero pride in the fact we have a bunch of guys in the nba especially the ones who’s talent was squandered while at UK. Idc about the nba and the coaches winning titles recently don’t seem to care either

I agree that what matters to me is UK. I'm not a big NBA fan. But I'm just making the point that I would question the statement that Pitino was a great developer of talent, as opposed to getting players better at running his system. He was a system coach at UK more than anything else. That's fine. All that matters for me is winning and bringing enjoyment to the fans. But I can say I enjoyed many of those Pitino teams and many of the aspects of the system he ran and still be honest about what I thought his strengths and weaknesses were.
Who cares about the NBA? We are talking about UK college basketball. I realize that some players come here because Cal promises to help them to the NBA. But there are other extremely talented college players.
I like the idea of Pitino. Every coach has issues. And for the record, I'm really exhausted about the rehashing of the hookers issue. Yeah it was bad, but he is a great in game coach. In that regard, a lot better than Cal.
