Sorry. Just started watching this series the last 2 games as have been busy at work. Why are there so many relief pitchers early or starters limited in their innings for these last two games? Also, I missed the first couple innings for the last two games as well. Thanks for any info.

Mainly because there are no off days for travel. Seven games in seven days, so the pitchers haven't had the same recovery time as in a normal seven-game series.

Of course, managers still sometimes outthink themselves and change pitchers when they shouldn't. But I think the lack of off days is the main reason.

Anderson was on normal rest. Dodgers were hitting him hard.

Dodgers pitching got messed up with the injury to Kershaw.

Both teams trust their relievers throwing an inning or two over letting the other team see a mediocre starter for multiple at bats. That's just how the game works now.

Braves have 2 starters on the DL, veteran who would be out there in Cole Hamels and all-star Mike Soroka.

Dodgers started a reliever, then brought the starter in for the 2nd inning. I think the managers are seriously overthinking this.

Yea the pitching rotation in this series has been a little off, but as stated before both managers prefer using their deep(ish) pens over letting a mediocre pitcher go through 4 or five innings.

Ian just didn’t seem to have the same stuff this go round as he did in game two so he was pulled... Plus both lineups can produce runs, neither manager is letting the opposing lineup get too many looks at a pitcher... Both the Braves and Dodgers do a great job getting onto a pitcher the more times around they go.

I will say though the defense has been great to watch... frustrating as a Braves fan but fun...Betts is a black hole out there in right, and has made so many great plays...

Thats called an opener, popularized by the team that is already in the world series on a budget that is 28th highest out of the 30 teams.

Surprised Minter is out there already. Started and Pitched 3 innings the other night. And the last time he did that was in college against Nebraska!

May isn't a reliever - he only pitched in relief twice this year, versus 10 starts. But as someone already noted, tonight he was intended as an opener.

Didn't work great, although he pitched at least as well as Gonsolin. So having May eat that inning might still pay off later in the game.

Yea I think this one is all done boys... my Braves just couldn’t close them out... give this pitching staff some time to mature and they will be like the Braves of old...

Not over yet.

You’re right and the Braves May be able to manufacture something 🤞🏻 But I’m seeing the inexperience pop in the lineup I think the young Braves are trying to do too much... in order to try to manufacture anything at this point they have to keep the all out of right field, and just try to use their speed in the bases... they have Austin that can provide some pop but the bottom of the order just needs to get the bat on the ball and put pressure of their pitchers

Bummer.. it was a good run by the Braves. Tampa will continue it’s 2020 title town status with a World Series banner. Super Bowl is next.

At this point I think I’m pullin for the Rays now too... it would be something to see tampa be able to claim title town but I think the Bucs will get in their own way... although after watching that D, spear headed by two former huskers no less, they could stand a chance they need to play more complete games like they did today... it would be cool to see them play in the super bowl since it’s in Tampa this year, but if history with my bucs have taught me anything it’s not to get my hopes up too high, not yet at least...

Anyways yes it was a good run by the Braves, wish I could have watched them in the World Series but I think their time will come in another year or two... they have a lot of good young arms coming up and that starting rotation was hurting this year... a lot of the core is still under contract for a while with Freeman, Albies, Acuna, Riley, Fried, Anderson, Soroka, and Swanson, we will need to keep adding to the pen to keep it strong but other then maybe adding a few more power bats and stability at catcher, which we have one coming up... we will be fine, and w
