NJ Tech Game Thread

[Dpgru]

We should have put them away 5 minutes ago. Now we are letting them back in it

[SJScarlet]

This team does not focus well, no killer instinct.

[Jim_from_RU]

It’s absolutely absurd how we constantly miss shots.

[Dpgru]

Bullock Sa Mensah. To a certain extent Doorson. Johnson we know notbing about. This is inventory that we cannot carry.

True that

[bac2therac]

Pathetic...team stopped playing...17 point lead down to 8...did this earlier this year..now must makw free throws

[Jim_from_RU]

They have like a zillion offensive rebounds.

[Dpgru]

God we play ugly

[bac2therac]

It’s absolutely absurd how we constantly miss shots.

Defense was quite embarassing the last few minutes

[Dpgru]

They have like a zillion offensive rebounds.

And we have a zillion turnovers

[bac2therac]

Our window to win league games will be quite small

[shields]

No more Sa.

[koleszar]

Sa should not be out there when all they're trying to do is foul. He completely sucks at FT.

You beat me to the post.

[koleszar]

Well that was uninspiring, but a W none the less.

[Degaz-RU]

Worst game we’ve played all year.

[Proud NJ Sports Fan]

Need to play better against FDU

[Dpgru]

Maybe when you consider the caliber of teams we played the last three games, it makes it hard to get the intensity up for these games but we sure made this harder than it had to be

[RUChoppin]

How many offensive rebounds does NJIT have?

Final: NJIT 23 OReb vs. 52 missed shots (44.2%); RU 9 OReb vs. 21 missed shots (42.9%)

[scarletNJ49]

Got through the trap game. Time to reset and hope they dominate FDU

[Dpgru]

Thank you all, it was fun chatting! Go RU

[MV9000]

NJIT played our game of last year.... miss every shot, prosper on offensives boards.

The team looked gassed probably from the MSU & Minny game. Luckily Sanders was scoring.

20 turnovers unacceptable. 50% fts also unacceptable. SHould of been a 20+ game.

[sct1111]

They played like they were mentally and physically tired. Can't blame them, had a rough schedule. They pulled it out and thats all that matters.

[Proud NJ Sports Fan]

Coach Pike said tonight was like Root Canal

[zebnatto]

Let's just be real: We were fckn awful.

[RU MAN]

Come on guys, relax. Everyone knew or should have known this was a classic trap game. It doesn't matter what Pike instilled in them before the game. They're still kids and still believed they can out-talent a,team like NJIT. I knew,we would win and I wasn't surprised how lethargic we,came out. We won. We're 7-3. That's all that matters right now.

Now onto FDU.

[soundcrib]

W

[JonathanAlan]

You can't use this game to predict how Rutgers will do in the Big. They were tired , emotionally spent , and just not in it for portions of the game. The number of turnovers , failure to box out on defense , and the number of offensive rebounds allowed NJIT just not characteristic of the team's play this year. Even the crowd was flat. Be glad we got the "W" and move on to the FDU game.

[RUChoppin]

Bullock Sa Mensah. To a certain extent Doorson. Johnson we know notbing about. This is inventory that we cannot carry.

Bullock doesn't play at all, and Mensah plays poorly. If there were a way to open both those schollie spots next year, that'd be a help to the team.

Sa is gone next year anyway, so we're not going to be carrying him - he lead the team with 8 boards and 3 blocks in 18 min tonight, even though he doesn't really bring much offensively.

[Proud NJ Sports Fan]

How was Pike so wrong with Souf?

[PatrickRU92]

some of you guys are seriously overreacting here. Certainly wasn't one for the time capsule but you knew there was going to be a bit of a letdown after playing 3 top teams in a row and now on 1 day rest.

just because we played crappy today shouldn't erase the fact that we played 2 good and 1 decent games against top competition

[Anon1751594821]

The B1G should not have their tourney at MSG.
It screwed up everyone's schedule
