Trying to determine my schedule for March. Obviously hoping NCAA and would make appropriate travel plans. What if we're in the NIT? Ends at MSG, but how are the early round sites determined? Could RU possibly host the RAC?

early round sites are at the higher seeds so RU would likely have a first round home game and possibly a second although RU women also could be hosting games if they are a top 16 overall seed so that could factor in

a lot depends on how we play the rest of the way. some wtf home losses without a signature top 25 win on the road may have us on the road in the NIt

i think the NIT would like us at home. We would draw at the RAC and draw big time if we were to make it to the Garden. It’s not that difficult to give us a slightly better seed than we might deserve if needed.

I agree but the NIT is not the old regime any longer where they played favorites. There is an actual seeding committee now that the NCAA owns it. It is meant to be transparent and fair. If we are between the 13th and 19th teams in the tourney then maybe we get a bump into top 16 but if we are between 20-32 then we are on the road.

They really don’t care about making money since they only bought the tournament to stave off an anti-trust suit. With the big tournament making billions, the NIT is more or less a loss leader. It’s how you get games like Mississippi at Monmouth a few years ago.

I remember a funny line from Bruce Johnson: It used to be that whenever Rutgers made the NIT, Bob Mulcahy would make a quick visit to the Yale Club in the city and walk out with 3 home games.
