Would 16-15 (7-11) get us there?

The remaining 4 games shape up very favorably. We'll get our most difficult 2 at home (UK and UT) and our easier ones on the road (UGA and Ole Miss).

Closing out the season with 5 straight wins would look awfully, awfully good. One thing they like is teams that are playing hot down the stretch.

Will the players stick around and play or leave for their next school? Its not like they have to finish class,

Feel bad for the players. We have had multiple games like this. In the game near the end, and we just don’t make the plays.

Best case scenario for Donati would be for the team to get inexplicably hot and win the SECT, gaining an auto bid to the NCAAT. He can't fire a coach who just made the NCAAT, so he gets off the hook for having to make the call and pay the buyout.

It could happen. A competitive loss against a traditional power like UK is strong evidence that Paris has this team moving in the right direction. Like those who are strong advocates for expanding the CFP to a big enough field that SC can back in and then, anything can happen. This team getting into the NCAAT, by any means necessary, means we could have a magic run to a NC in MBB.

You have to believe!!!

I still say, Paris just needs more time. He knows what he is doing.

It is possible...Georgia did it in 2008.

We could pull an NC State. Coach who was going to be fired ended up winning the conference tourney, made a run in the NCAAT, was forced to retain the coach due to a clause in his contract, then fired him the next season.
Georgia gave Dennis Felton an extension after that magical run in 2008 though. That seems like something USC would do.

Coaches should be jumping at the chance to work here. Tremendous pay with absolutely zero results or accountability. I'd take the job. In 5 years I'm sipping cold beer on the beach earning interest on my buyout.

Felton went 17-17 in that "magical" season, 4-12 in conference play. They lost in the first round of the NCAAT. Felton was fired mid season the next year.

I don't remember the details, but in the SEC tournament, UK was upset early so UGA didn't have to play them.
