After whats happened to this state this past week, maybe they'll go on a tear(tare?) and give us all some inspirational awesomeness and win the whole damn thing.

Its as if we have learned nothing from our football failures .

Kind of surprised Butler got in as #5, actually. Tied for last in the Big East and got spanked in the first round of the conference tournament. Did have non-conference wins over Florida and UC-Irvine, but otherwise not a great resume.

Clearly, the NIT powers just wanted to see AD Barry Collier return to NU to face off against his old team. I know the selection committee loves human interest stories, but they really shouldn't upstage the main tourney like that. The buildup is going to be intense.

Barry Collier himself is actually the chair of the NIT selection committee. So he must have wanted to play against Nebraska.

Interesting. In all seriousness, if Barry really did "steer" Butler to Lincoln for this game, NU should take it as a compliment.

The game will be well attended, the Butler players/fans will be treated well and the arena/accommodations are first rate. What's not to like?

I'm sure he's also keenly aware that only half of our team is active at the moment. Smokin
