Is our poor NIL position relative to keeping football players and landing new portal ones strictly relate to a small and apathetic fanbase ? While I don't follow hoops real close did we shell out a bundle for the current underperforming BB team and is that part of the issue as well ?

Yes. People get to decide which sport they will support via NIL. BB supporters ponied up and we landed DylAce. Unfortunately, supporting players were landed from the bargain bin, hence our observed results.
Schiano is very judicious with the portal, as we are mostly shopping in the bargain bin, which will be used to fill holes, sparingly.
We will depend on HS recruiting for the majority of our football talent needs.
