I saw it rumored/reported yesterday that agents are already looking at the 24-team CFP as a way to expand NIL payments. Think about it...you sign a player to a $1.5 million NIL deal for a 12-game season. Then you make the CFP. Are they gonna play 5 more games...nearly another half season....for free? Likely it would spelled out in the original contract that x amount of extra money is due on a per game basis for the CFP. I suppose analogous to NFL players getting bonuses in the playoffs.
Contracts OUGHT to contain language that contractually obligates players to play if their team makes the CFP. But we know nobody would enforce that.
