I'm really happy that the kids are getting this opportunity.

Every time I think about it I am reminded of the UCF kicker who was ruled ineligible by the NCAA because he was monetizing his YouTube page. He use the page to give place kicking lessons/demontrations.

I am done donating to Rutgers Basketball.
Why? Do you think all players are going to be able to make money?

And if the answer is yes, I wonder if there will be any transparency(doubt it) at all as to how much they are making from each product they attach their name to. If there is no transparency, I think many people will feel the way you do.

All players in a rotation are going to expect to make money. When you donate to Rutgers basketball you are indirectly paying a marketing company that is there to help players make money.

I think it will work both ways. For all the people who feel this way, there are just as many who willl be eager to support the cause. I’m not talking about the big donors either. I’m talking about small time folks who wouldve happily visited that place kicker’s you tube video dozens of times to help monetize it or would line up at a “Geo’s lemonade stand” in a local park to buy a $7 cup of fresh lemonade in a souvenir branded cup with Geo’s autograph on it. Could Geo sell thousands of something like that by the end of next season? I think it’s possible and it will add up.

NCAA finally on board.

It's not that they're finally on board, as you put it. They grudgingly got on board a while ago. They even want a federal NIL law passed.

The NCAA had to do something on behalf of student-athletes who attend a school in a state that does not have a NIL law going into effect at midnight tonight.

Otherwise you truly would have a case of The Haves and the Have Nots.

I actually think female sports can do pretty well with this as well. Hey, if they “got it like that” and people will pay for their property, so be it.

My question is what about a JERSEY with the players name on it? Do they get a piece of that too?

Don’t bother.
That poster doesn’t think players at elite schools are already receiving payments during the recruiting process.

NIL is a mockery because now players will be getting paid - completely ignoring illegal payments to recruits already occurring.
