Must be nil related or something close. Besides public comments.

You all know I can be critical of Cal. But I 100% believe Smith's comments about his scholarship offer reaction are why he isn't visiting and the recruitment is over. I think Cal knows he's got other options and pulled a Josh Christopher on him. Smith had the bags packed and was looking forward to that free trip. Cal said not so fast. If so, kudos to Cal. We don't need to be this guy's hat on the table.

I like to think we dropped him.

It's funny because the "these kids are always right now matter what they say" were digging their heels in defending the guy for his comments. It looks like Cal was actually on the side of the people that thought those comments were a little disrespectful. Has to be a little confusing for some of our posters here to decide what angle they need to take now.

We can't say who dropped who at this time.. it very well could be Smith, who didn't like what he heard.. which was essentially Cal "dropping" him. Or, it could have been the exact opposite. It likely wasn't 100% either party.

Either way, he's not coming and I'm actually happy about it.

Here we go again. Lots of speculation but no actual facts or quotes. Well, great, now we will see assertions here on the Rafters for weeks stating that swaggy Cal for sure "told Smith to STFU and GTFO" even though there's no confirmation of which side did or said what.

I see what you're saying. I do. But this is a message board. That's kinda what we do, on places like this. Speculate, vent, predict the future, etc. Do you see what I'm saying? If you expect something different for a topic like this, that's on you. Like if I went to the Paddock and expected to get professional legal advice or medical diagnosis. I'd get speculation. So that disappointment would be on me. Because it's a message board. Not a hospital or legal clinic. This isn't Cal's office.

Speculating means saying "Perhaps..." or "Maybe..." not "Cal told him to fkcu off LOLz"

Cal likely ticked him off this summer by prioritizing Wallace, Sharpe, and Livingston. The comments he made were probably his attempt to save face. Just my guess.

That’s how post-modern oppression works my man. Soft bigotry to the tenth degree in order to limit the mental abilities of the “victim”.

It’s essentially “vote or die” in the era of identity politics. Vote for us even if it never gets better, because “the other” is going to destroy you.

UK has been recruiting a group of elite guards for months. Once Cal saw that he can sign Sharpe and Wallace, Smith was no longer a top priority for our class. It doesn't mean Smith isn't a good player, just that the chemistry with Clark, Sharpe, and Wallace works better for UK. Calipari always says UK isn't for everyone. So UK isn't for Smith. That's okay.
