I've thought Nick was for certain gone, but I had forgot about the girlfriend. Will she be at UK next year? If so, I say good chance Nick returns. She seems to have a ring in his nose.

His girlfriend is graduating and will be gone which is why I'm sure he is gone. I think a big reason he came back last season was because his girlfriend was still here.

People underestimate how important the girls are when it comes to recruiting/staying/transferring. I think the biggest reason we landed Julius Randle was because of him meeting his now wife when he visited Kentucky.

After EJ and Nick jet this team is going to return 1 player who played minutes last year. That has to be the biggest loss ever. What is that like 98% of our scoring LMFAO? I really hope EJ is smarter than I think. Plus we need Haarms badly.

Hagans was gonna run it back, but he got too deep into the lane and his shot hit the bottom of the rim.

I get the Hagans comparison.. but I will make the distinction that Ashton is a bit of a headcase. Not that I don't think Richards ultimately leaves. Just that I don't think he would do this on purpose.. or I hope not, at least.

Nothing wrong with hope. Hope is the thing with feathers.

I mean they're just kids having fun but I really hope he isnt trolling
That wasn't trolling and he is not coming back. People try to take every little thing on social media and make it a thing . Now if he posted a song called " I'm back for year 4 " or something and then declared tomorrow that is trolling. Trolling is what Greg Brown and Kuminga are doing with UK . Everyone including those kids know they aint ever going to where blue and white.

Does Allen even count? He didn't play any so he's basically a new player. And I love Cal but it's hard to get a championship losing your best 6 players.
Agree but some get mad if you act like losing the whole team hurts and we don't think all the new players will be stars and better than the ones they are replacing.

Maybe it’s me and my fandom diminishing, but who even cares anymore. I just assume they’re leaving, say “see ya...enjoy life”, and move on. I’m beyond caring who stays/leaves anymore.
Absolutely. I automatically assume that even the walk-ons are leaving each year. And I think a lot of us are getting tired of it.

I hate that you feel that way or any of the fans for that matter. I look at it like this, Kentucky is still Kentucky. They missed the tournament once since Cal has been here, it happens you regroup and chase it again next year.

It’s not about Cal for me. It’s about the general “I have to GTFOH as fast as I can” climate that college basketball has turned into. First round picks I’ve always gotten. But we’ve gotten to a point now where people say you’d be stupid not to go pro when you’re projected in the 2nd round? Whatever.

Oh, my comment wasn't a knock on Cal or UK. It was more a broader commentary about college basketball, as a whole. And this immediate transfer rule will truly make it like free agency. Part of the reason I dislike following pro teams is the turnover. But, it's probably just me. I'm old, and times change.

Well, we KIND of got our money's worth. They both had breakout years, but were cut short. We didn't REALLY get our moneys worth, we got to the movie's climax, but never finished it.

However, fans need to realize that's just the way this year went. It sucks we didn't get to see all the fruits of the labor, so to speak.. but we can't put that on the players.

I think that's why this feels like even a bigger kick to the nads. It's almost like this year was no different than the one where we went to the NIT. Sure we know we were better, we won bigger games, too. But the end result, no different.

But the good thing is we won the only thing as a SEC team can with a trophy this year, the SEC conference, no one else in the conference can say that. And Nick deserves to go without eveyone worrying that a player is trolling the fanbase. Nick for awhile was the main guy that should leave after this past season. Good luck Nick.

I think both can be achieved. Nick deserves to go to the league, and Kentucky fans deserve to not be jerked around (not that I think he is). I hear the sentiment a lot, "we're just fans, we're not the ones playing the game".. maybe so, but it's the fans that helped make Kentucky what it is today, which is what brought Cal here, who is helping a kid like Richards achieve a dream that he probably doesn't get in almost any other school.

I think we as fans have a right to say "it's your choice, but don't get our hopes up for nothing".

I don't get into Instagram or anything, but why do people follow these kids? I don't get the point of getting worked up for stuff you have no control over.

Nick and Quickley were the two best players on the team by far. It would be great if they returned, but I can't bemoan them leaving after star level seasons. We got our money's worth, if you will.
