The committee has a history of jumping crazy hot teams 2-3 seed lines. I think there is a chance they could flip UK and Auburn considering McLemore is out. Or putting us in Nashville against Murray State or Marshall as a 4/13 game. Nashville’s what, two hours from Murray? Their fan base has wanted to play UK for years and would gobble up those tickets. We all know how much $$$ impacts the NCAA thinking. Not saying this will come to fruition but it would be a mistake dismiss us being a 3 or a 4 playing in a favorable location. It’s totally in play IMHO.

Guys just be prepared to be mad this evening.

The SEC tournament game is practically an exhibition at this point. Doesn't count for anything other than bragging rights and a spot in the tourney that we generally have locked up anyways.

Cats should easily jump Wichita st, Texas tech, and others to get a 4. Tennessee should stay a 3, auburn a 4

Guys we are not jumping top 16 teams, were not getting a 4. Yes our RPI is top 15 SOS is 6th but unless you're Duke or UNC, you have to win games you cant go 24-10 and just say well at least we played a good schedule. You also have to win.

We should get a 5 seed but don't be surprised if we get a 6 seed and are paired with Murray State in the first round.

Too bad this happens so late in the process.

Kentucky now has RPI of 10, now has 5 quad 1 wins and 9 quad 2 wins so 14 top quad 1+2 wins.

Tenn RPI is 8, has 6 quad 1 wins and just 5 quad 2 wins

Tennessee going to be a 3 seed most likely.

Kentucky ?

As much as I hope I’m wrong, my guess a 5 and wouldn’t be hugely shocked at a 6 although a 6 would be criminal. We just get hammered by the NCAA unless our record is flawless and this year, it’s far from flawless. Look for Duke and UNC however to move into solid twos even though both were beaten.

Whatever they had auburn at before this game we will move into. They’ve lost a top player and haven’t ended the season well at all so it would be an easy move
I've wondered about this.

I'm picking Auburn to lose in the 1st round. I don't think anyone who follows college basketball is going to pick them to make the Sweet 16. Do you really want to seed a team like that at 3 or 4? I know they had a great season, and I guess you have to reward them to a certain extent for that, but they're just not the same team that was racking up all those wins.

I say 4. Anything lower than a 5 would be a joke. If UT was going to move up a seed line BEATING an unranked UK, then what do we get for beating a potential two seed, without one of our best players?

This is what's disturbing with the committee...they will wait for UT to get the w on Sunday, and move them up, but could care less if uk ever wins on Sunday at the sec tourney...such a joke. UK is without fail, penalized for winning the sec tourney ....But no one else is....corrupt ncaa. Barnhart needs to grow a pair and call out the committee..

Not a chance we get an 8 seed
lol there is a bigger chance of getting a 8 because thats around what we're ranked then a 3,4,or 5 like everyone is predicting. We are not jumping ranked teams and getting 3 seeds. Be ready for a higher seed.

I'll be fired up if we aren't a 4. 12 seed teams are usually very solid and typically have lost less games than the 5 they play. If you take care of business against your 13, (much higher rate of success for teams) then you are looking at basically a 50/50 chance of playing an emotionally drained 12 seed in the 2nd round.

I think most years prior it's been easy for the committee to ignore the SEC Tournament because of it being a "weak" league (although tourney performance usually proved otherwise in the end). SEC is easily the 2nd best league this year, if not the best. Winning the SEC tournament has to mean something this season. There is no reason for the committee not to have a contingency in place for UK winning to give them a bump.

Despite all this I'm prepared for the screw job. We'll be a 5 and either get Arizona or an underseeded Michigan as our 4.

Not on paper, but...

Current schools bracketmatrix has at 3 and 4: Tennessee, Michigan State, Michigan, Auburn, Arizona, WVa, Texas Tech, Wichita State.

I'll bet if you could get an honest answer from a fan of any of the 1 seeds, or from a Duke or UNC fan, and ask them who they'd prefer to play in the Sweet 16, any of those schools, or UK, the answer would be any of those schools, with the possible exception of Michigan State.

I know you can't really take that into consideration when seeding, but maybe they should. You'd get a better overall bracket that way.

There is a 0 percent chance of us being worse than a 6 seed.

The top 25 rankings does not matter when it comes to seeding. Kentucky's metrics place us around the 5 seed line.

Toughest conference this year and we had one hell of a SOS so to finish like this while Witch St who plays in a weak 3 team conference doesn't make the title game but is a 4 and others losing I feel like we are a solid 4 and with AUB no way a 3 maybe we get the 3 line, but I wouldn't hold my breath. When you look at the teams in 4 and 5 we are right there with any of them and better then most. I feel like today we deserve a 3, but probably a 4, anything past a 4 is a real screwing.

4 should be on lock now.

I hope you're right, but us jumping up a seed is by no mean's a "lock" if you've watchd the Selection Show every year. In 2011 we thought we were a solid 3, maybe a 2, wound up with a 4 in the toughest region. In 2014, we some how end up as an 8 Seed even though we finished the season ranked in the Top 25. 2016: Thought we were a solid 3, wound up as a 4, with the team we'd just beaten earlier that day who had the same record as us getting a 3 in an easier region.

Winning the SEC Tournament never seems to help us any. I'd be content if we slipped no lower than a #5 Seed in a region that's not this year's Murderer's Row.

There is a big difference between 4 and 5 actually. The 4 seed would have preferential placement on the first two rounds (theoretically) so instead of playing as a 4 in Nashville, we could be a 5 in a much less friendly environment!
