Damn, the NFL is a big-time injury league.Well that looks like a torn ACL for Parsons. Sucks.
The season is just too long. Adding Thursday games doesn't help with injuries, either. But these teams are all turning into MASH units by the time December rolls around. You are going to get champions crowned based on how fortunate they are with injuries, which is really not good for the league in the long run.Damn, the NFL is a big-time injury league.
Not sure on the data but it certainly feels like injuries are up in all major sports with the possible exception of hockey. You have to wonder how much training and other factors have on things. Look at MLB...arm injuries are way up despite everything being done to try to reduce injuries. Are NBA "rest days" helping or hurting? Those that rest always seem to be injured. The season is just too long. Adding Thursday games doesn't help with injuries, either. I know that we are much more likely to see the NFL go to an 18-game season than we are likely to see them reduce the number of regular season games. But seeing Parsons, Mahomes and countless other players go down with serious injuries is sad to see.

For the NFL it seems like a lot of non contact injuries despite largely getting rid of astroturf. I don't think it's the extra game...snaps are ways more limited now than they were in the past for guys like Parsons.
It's definitely a problem but might be one without a solution.
