What is the attraction to keeping up with this? Every expert has a different take every day, it seems.

It's not like keeping up with recruiting where players offer their lists.

Is there some value in them, entertainment or otherwise?

I have a friend that is all about the nfl draft. He keeps up with all the moves and the mock drafts.

Other than the NCAA Tournament (and that's only three weekends), it's a dead time in sports.

General rule of thumb to me is: the further we get away from CFB season, the further the mock drafts & rumors get away from what people saw on the field.

Example: No one in their right mind had Fernando Mendoza & Ty Simpson in the same sentence during football season but now their are people debating who is better between them, as if the season & actual games don't matter at all.

Mendoza will go ahead of Simpson but the fact that anyone is considering Ty Simpson in the 1st round is wild to me. He wasn't good

There is no attraction. 1 wrong answer and the whole thing gets shaken up. I hate these, preseason polls for any sport, bowl projections, all of it.
