That's insane. We've had four players drafted in the last two years. Even schools like SDSU are getting players drafted in the first round. Rhule needs to be shown the door, or we'll be stuck in mediocrity for perpetuity.

For young QBs a lot depends on their coaching and supporting cast. Recent history where KOC has resurrected the careers of QBs thought to be busts reflects that. I have to wonder what a guy like Trubisky could have been in San Fran.
We've had 4 1st round picks over the last 21 years (none over the past 12), and the Buckeyes had 4 in the first 11 picks of the draft yesterday. That stat pretty much tells the story of how NU compares to top programs without even looking at W-Ls.
How did Ohio State NOT win the national championship this year with all that talent? Talk about underperforming coaches.
I will say it again, but it is shocking what NIL has done to the SEC.
They cry about trying to get more teams in the playoffs
They can't win a title in FB or even make the final anymore.
They no longer get the most guys drafted in the first round.
In less than 5 years the change is shocking. It really goes to show how amazing their cheating was before NIL and how lame the other teams were when it came to cheating (They should have all been doing it)

It definitely did feel like it was on full display last night.
That said, I'll be shocked if we don't see it level itself back out over the next couple years.
As Tom noted a few times, winning is hard. It would seem logical to deduce that Cignetti is a better coach than Day. That said, Cignetti hit on the most important position with a senior experienced QB. Gignetti doesn’t get to the tourney without Mendoza IMO.
Money alone isn’t going to keep 60-70 top college players happy. What Cignetti did was remarkable but I don’t see it happening again soon.

Frost has proven to be - by far - our best recruiter since Bo left

So you like the guy who can't get it AND can't develop it, vs the guy who can get it but just can't develop it? Does. Not. Compute.
Chiefs need to think twice before they draft a guy with shorter arms than a T Rex in the 2nd round. He produced in college for sure, but no way i'd touch him this early. I feel like there are safer picks. I'd like to see em nab another big ugly on either side of the ball personally.
No. Im simply saying that Nebraska has been mediocre for 25 years. Frost was the worst coach in Nebraska history. All you retards that think we became average overnight because of Rhule obviously haven't been paying attention for the last 2 decades plus.

If anything, I think the last 2 decades plus have made us all experts on knowing when a coach isn't going to work. We've gotten elite at spotting lack of coaching talent. Well, at least most of us have, anyway.
Awesome. Now, unless you are going to pay the 50 million plus to buy him out for better or worse Rhule is the Head Coach for the immediate future. How many on here wanted Hoiberg fired? I know King Wrong sure did. Now he's the Coach of the Year and just had a historic season and did something no coach has ever done at Nebraska. I'm not saying Rhule will have that same kind of success but some of us on here live in reality.
The reality that Nebraska plays in the Big 10 and isn't going back the watered down new Big 12.
The reality that Rhule is the coach until he gets fired or he has a Hoiberg type turnaround.
Pissing and moaning 24-7 doesn't change anything.
Deal with it or buy him out and front the money to go find our own Cignetti.
