Agree. The only subpar game he had last year fo OSU was against Michigan and they mentioned - on TV - he was battling injuries in that game. Once he had time to rest up for the Playoffs, he was absolutely lights out
Will he even agree to a "chump change" contract as a 5th round choice? He may quit football altogether and concentrate on fashion and male modeling in Paris.
He will make no where near 3-6 million a year to start out. His total contract won’t even reach 5 million.

No did you flunk math . 4.6 over 4 years including a 400 kplus singing bonus’. So his contract is 4.1 over 4 years. That’s 1 million/yr not 1.5-2.

Yeah it's going to be very difficult to make noise in this league without a decent amount of draftable talent on the roster. Indiana managed to do it but they were an extreme outlier. Seems like they have the facilities, fan support and have a decent coaching staff. But they are going to need dudes. Lots of dudes.

Much more has changed in college football since 1998 than just Nebraska, Dr Tom and the triple option. I do not know if Nebraska will be able to compete financially in today's pay for play NIL transfer world, but I do believe we have the right pieces, coaching and support system in place so we can at least return to the 9-win seasons and heart-breaking losses before Dr Tom broke out after 25 years with in the twilight of his coaching career.
That isn’t no big surprise look at what our records were from 93-98 compared to our record the past decade.
Of course look at Maryland they had 6 players drafted and ended up 4-8 with only one B1G win.
NFL players are also a product of development. Which we have severely lacked the past decade. I think this staff will also turn that around by sending 3 and 4 stars to the league.
Good kid landed in a great spot. Being drafted gives him a better chance to stick on the roster. Good for him.

You would think so with the 4 latest additions, but the SEC obviously has a ton of talent.

Some of that is just geography and the number of teams. The talent pool in their geographical footprint mirrors the NFL talent makeup. Not that many dudes in the B1G footprint. It’s why Rhule has gone heavy in Florida with his staff and recruiting.

Out of first round picks, surprisingly only 6 or 7 were transfers. Ward, Hunter, Golden, Dart, Simmons, one at Oregon from Michigan State, Nolen. Could have missed one. Out of the first round, Dart went from USC to the SEC. Didn't see any the other direction.
