All three QB’s we’re more of the reason than anything we conjure up..
Certainly a single factor but ask yourself this, did that group improve over the year? How about a WR room that was not prepared to lose two starters, where was that development? How about our TE play, basic at best. It is just too easy to point to the QB issue and call it a day. And I failed to mention RB which was a disaster with injuries as well.

One wide receiver quit right before first game, two other hurt, tight end coach DUI/DWI then fired, new coach was brought in or already on team, I forget? Lots of the “curse” still around even after bringing back Frank the Tank Solich..

the TE coach was an on-staff analyst who was promoted to TE coach

that unit needs to vastly improve at the point of attack

Just STOP your drivel..
I have to side with Kong on this. This was Rhule's first season at Nebraska, not his first head coaching job. Great coaches have **** figured out after their second year. This was his 11th year as a head football coach. 11th.

He is a 52-50 College Football HC and he'll stay a .500 coach until he starts learning how to be otherwise.

Not against teams with equal or better talent.

But I also understand the crawl, walk, run aspect of it

And I’m really beginning to understand that beating ranked teams and winning meaningfully isn’t much more than a pipe dream at this point to most “fans” here. It’s been a long time in the desert.

Win the games we should with better talent and the margins become even larger. Its not too often a paycheck in the upper echelon of a head coach’s peer group comes with such little expectations.

Schedule for this upcoming season sets up like a dream.

7-0 start with a top 10 ranking and in that first "playoff reveal" that they will totally do.
we've said this every year for the past 5.

i have to see that we can beat teams before i'll get excited about that.

The original post that got this started referred to the weak teams we played. Do you think this team played up its capacity?

The casual observer looks at QB play and goes oh that’s the problem. Or better yet, the problem is ALWAYS play calling. I would submit it was much deeper than that. Line calls, blocking calls by the QB, route changes by the QB call, and more reading and communication issues that take place in a game and few people understand.

QB was the biggest, chronic issue while the other issues were there but not to the same magnitude
