Next years team

Not sure they could possibly be a worse group next year, but nothing would surprise me at this point. We could get 5-6 guys back, or maybe 2.....this team had no real time to bond and develop chemistry before the season, and that’s very evident in their play. Starting over every year finally but Cal in the Azz, and he has next year to right the ship.
I don’t see why Boston would even consider leaving he just ain’t got it. Unless he just can’t take the heat from fans for being turrible on the court idk
It depends. Can the incoming players shoot? Because we seem to have only guy at present who can consistently knock down shots. So until and unless we add some shooters to this team and actually play them significant minutes, nothing is going to change. You can't win basketball games if you can't score.
If Oscar evens plays a minute at UK before he bolts. Then he will be starting at the 5. If we had enough shooters we could play 4 around 1 and I believe Oscar would thrive.
But Cal will insist on playing another big with Oscar and whoever that big is will not be able to score the ball. It will clog up the lane and make it difficult to even get the ball to Oscar.
Playing two big guys together does not work anymore. Huggins tried it at WV with Oscar and teams clogged up the lane they had trouble getting him the ball down low.
He then started loafing and pouting and then quit on the team and left.

Yeah, I could see that playing out just the way you described it. Why is Cal stuck in a 1980's mentality when it comes to playing multiple bigs at the same time? So much for a guy who brands himself as innovative.
Get a damn offensive system that is condusive to good outside shooting. Cal and his dinosaur offense are the problem.

also, much of BBN is now just wondering how will Cal fluff up Skye and Collins etc. How bad will they struggle with Cal's historically awful spacing on offense

I agree...we only lose 7 guys off this years team, but I think 40-0 or at least 38-2 next year is an easy call
Come on, we are all just eager to get embarrassed by Duke to start the year..... and lose to Ohio State and a mid major and Utah or G tech etc. yay, embarrassing starts to seasons so we can play for March and not make final fours any more. Just thank you Cal for the trash can buffet and calling it a 5 star restaurant.
If guys come back, we should have a good team.
Need Askew, Allen, Fletcher, Toppin, and Ware back for sure. That would be a pretty strong core along with Tshiebwe, Clark, Hickman, Hopkins, and Collins.
Add another guard (one that can shoot- like Podziemski) and we should be in good shape with an 11 man roster.

Offense will not change. Will just depend on how much next years team can out-talent other teams. We don’t know what the talent level for next year is. Oscar is a player more akin to what Cal likes to do.
Gotta believe after 12 games next year Cats will be at least 7-5 if not 8-4 or 9-3. Start with cupcakes so likely the latter.
