Next Years SEC Tournament Question

Since they will be adding Oklahoma and Texas to go to 16 teams, will the Tourney be set up like an NCAA regional with no byes just seeded 1-16? Spread out over 4 days? I would think if that's the case, you would be gunning to play on day 1 as one of the top 4 seeds so you get day two of the tourney off and avoid 3 games in 3 days. Nashville would lose a days worth of people jamming the streets too.

Good question. I haven’t seen that addressed.

Maybe it’s time to just do away with it?

Or keep the double bye and play 4 games on Wednesday?

I don’t think it’s wise as a conference to put your best teams thru a 4 day tournament right before the NCAA.

I believe two games will be added to Wednesday:
9 vs 16
10 vs 15
11 vs 14
12 vs 13

5-8 receive the single byes and 1-4 still receive double byes

I could see this happening. Makes sense.
