125 DeLuca - AA probably 7th/8th
133 Crookham - AA probably 3rd/4th. Esp if Fox and Seidel move out of 133.
141 Bailey - AA probably 7th/8th. Loss Vega but added Forrest. :(
149 Block - AA probably 7th/8th. Took 6th last year, but we're adding Vega and Hansen, plus returning SVN and Valencia.
157 ? - Maybe R12. 157 is so stacked...
165 Schubert - AA probably 7th/8th. I don't know him too well, but 165 is pretty light.
174 Arnold - AA probably 3rd/4th. 174 also pretty light.
184 Ferrari - NC. Top 4 will be Ferrari, Sinclair, McEnely, and Welsh. Will be who shows up that day.
197 Ludington - R16 probably. Still has some growing to do.
285 Kueter - AA probably 3rd/4th. I don't see him winning it all despite being #1. Maybe he will though!

So overall, 4 Top 4 guys, and 5 more top 8 for a total of 9 AA. 157 maybe Williams will surprise me.

8 AAs. 2 champions.
Hope you’re right my brother! I see winning at 84 and having a chance to AA at 8 other weights, meaning that at the end of the day we’ll have one champ and five other AAs. Lately (last ten or so years), we just seem to have injuries and other issues that prevent us from doing our best at NCAAs. Hope this year is different!

I expect Arnold to be a terror at 74….. can’t wait to see him with a starting spot at what appears to be his optimal weight class

Reminds me of Darryl Weber a little filling in where needed before finally getting his shot at the right weight……would really love to see that kid on top of the podium

Gabe is talented enough to win in the first 6 minutes...not play the game in which he narrowly wins or loses in the last 30 seconds.

I love the kid, he's a total team player. But until we see him not turtle up against stiffer opponents, he's a low to mid AA. Would love to see him wrestle mesenbrink if the stars align this season. Great D vs great offense.

So, maybe 85 points in March?

This would be awesome. Unfortunately, it is pretty optimistic.

Great counter wrestler, up tempo and aggressive. If Crookham gets back to that, he is in the conversation. Desanto will be a big help for conditioning.
He's a fragile flower and refuses to wrestle unless he's feeling 100% Been going on since 9th grade and exasperated by a stage father.

To anyone predicting 1st place at 184, has Angelo shown any commitment this offseason to improving his offense? I’m honestly wondering. Because I could see him having the mindset of “I was just one OT match against the eventual champion away. I should stay the course”. This would of course be foolish, but who knows what kind of foolish advice he may be getting. So unless you can say he has made a serious commitment to being more aggressive, he isn’t winning it all.

Pretty sure the top 4 were all in tight matches and multiple ot matches. I don't think any of them are going to turn into offensive juggernauts when facing each other. Angelo has a good sweep single leg but his best offense is counter wrestling and scrambling. It will be a fun weight to watch. Unless something changes, the only head to head for Angelo will be Welsh at PSU, cant wait for that.

I can see into the future. I don't want to tell you how it ends, but, it goes to OT tied 1-1.

Let me guess, a PSU homer ref dials up a stall point for an epic of epics rocco win.

It's either that, or due to Ferrari being injured. Those are basically the only two reasons that Iowa wrestlers ever lose. If neither of those aren't plausible, then they were on PED's.

Anybody ever wish Penn St fans could have their own wrestling board? Then we wouldn't have to feign the gracious host to them all the time ;)
