The good news is we lose quite a bit from the line. The bad news, Frost is already on record stating the D-Line will likely take a step back next year.

So we have that going for us in to year 3. Chinander might be able to put up a top 75 defense next year if we are lucky.

I like the twins and they flash at times but get swallowed up too often.

If the wunta is there and Tony T can get them going we could still have something next year and beyond...good group in Stille, Damion D, Thomas, Green, Rogers and Robinson plus will be interested to see what Tate can do when healthy and Newsom

I'm' hoping that on defense it's addition by subtraction at linebacker. IMO, our D line would look a whole bunch better with better linebacker play. Miller and Barry have been very inconsistent at best. Davis shouldn't be a starter in the B1G IMO. When they fail to fit correctly it makes the D line look really bad. You never expect a bunch of sacks or pressure from you D line in a 3-4 unless you've got guys like Suh lined up. I am HOPING that the infusion of youngsters next year at linebacker will help our D as a whole. We are going to be extremely young on D almost across the board next year. IF we can get them all to play with Nelson's nasty attitude we could be better.

Also, what's up with D. Thomas? Reports on him seemed positive, but it doesn't seem like he has played this year. Injured?

He has played quite a bit...problem is, this D requires DL to be space eaters and LB to be playmakers.

Who is the elite pass rusher out of the young guys? I’m not seeing one. I think Gunnerson could help down the road but he’s not going to play much...if at all next year.

And we all know Chinander is not going to our scheme anybody. Our only hope for the foreseeable future is for Frost to get the offense rolling.

I don't disagree. Somebody needs to step up off the edge for sure. Alex Davis is TOO slow as a pass rusher. Nelson has the right attitude and size. I'm not sure he's fast enough to be an elite pass rusher. Our freshman class of linebackers had tremendous offer lists. I think a couple of the guys redshirting might be difference makers. The Snodgrass kid looks to have a very high football IQ to go along with safety kind of cover and speed from what i've seen. I've not seen Henrich play but he was highly recruited. Tannor and Honas will be another year in the system and hopefully they can play faster. I think Tannor has enough speed but he plays so tentatively at times. Man when you look at our roster and this senior class of linebackers. Whew. Good riddance to most of them. Barry plays hard but man he's small, not very fast and makes a few mistakes. I think we can replace him.
