Need to go 2-1 before we play MSU again at MSG. Penn State is not a gimme by any means. We come out flat....could be a long night. They have shooters and lets be honest....our last two home games have not been great. Also, really disappointed in Caleb. This season will come down to how well he plays. For a 5th year guy, his IQ is below par. Too many easy errors, and seem to keep happening. Not sure where he is mentally.

Caleb should drive and never shoot a 3. Ever. Neither should Cliff.
It almost looked like MSU was giving him the open three at times whereas they made it difficult for Cam and others to get good looks much of the night.
Coach Pikiell knows the roster which is the reason why he likes grind out games,
It's not his shooting that's been an issue imo, it's not playing within his game. He has made mistakes w the ball causing turnovers, and has made some questionable decisions with shots and passes.
He has hit on shots that are in his wheelhouse and that includes some 3s. He's just got to play within himself and fulfill his role.
he had a real bad sequence later in this game, threw away a ball back to msu and then on the following offensive possession dribble down the court hero ball style and took a bad jumper...also another bad turnover around 4-5 minutes for no apparent reason
If you're ice cold and the ball comes to you open at the 3... attack the rim! You can still be aggressive in that situation by attacking with a purpose
Yup...was thinking about that exact sequence while typing...just really sloppy play. I don't mind the occasional open three miss, bc he will also hit them sometimes, and open shots are open shots, as long as it isn't too early in the clock or with better options, but those types of turnovers are killers, and the exact opposite of what this type of team, or that type of player needs to be doing imo. "Hero ball" is an excellent phrase for it.
Caleb early clock 3 attempt was a real momentum breaker vs Seton Hall. We also might have won in regulation vs OSU if not for another..
But he has the best bank shot on the team, & has a nice 15 foot floater. He has usually been known to break the ice with a bucket after a long scoring drought. Not so much this season..still a long way to go in the season, & he is a great defensive player.
Team really should go 3-0 into Garden game. If so, this could be the first of 3 possible games in the Garden. With Uconn’s losing streak, if RU finishes strong, committee may want to have Rutgers instead of Uconn on the Empire Amtrak line (Albany/PennStation MSG)
Should not be looking at Iowa game as probable loss. i see that game similar to the Revenge game at Iowa in 2019, this time with Cam instead of Harper, lighting it up from downtown..

Caleb shoots best on the move and in the flow of the offense. He is not a good stand still shooter. When he gets the ball, stands thinking; " I'm open I should shoot "; he usually misses. The coaches should make him aware of this point!
