We're all familiar with the quip "Money is the answer; what's the question" I feel like unless you're Duke or Kansas, pulling in TOP high school talent every year, the portal is always the answer.

This isn’t meant as snark, but are we at the same level as Fran? I never understood the let’s give a basketball coach years to turn things around….if the coach can recruit top players it’s a quick turnaround

i will say that Iowa is playing a more well rounded style compared to Fran but if Ben can’t recruit then it’s just average results in a different way

It proved tonight I love our players but they are high mid major talent Ben will need to pull some miracles to get into NCAA

Yes and they represent a critical few months. It starts with righting the ship (I'm Navy) and preventing a collapse which would have consequences. Ben has said he wants to recruit from within first and up to this point I didn't think we would have transfers but as we have seen things change quickly.

Then he has to fill in the hole at point guard. It appears that will have to come from the portal. We need a young point to develop and that at least doesn't appear forthcoming in the 26 class. We very much need help in the middle as well. Ben got off to a great start and now it becomes wait and see time.
