ADTA said in the PC that anything MJ does he will back.
These moves take time.

As we speak, Mickey is feverishly working the Rolodex.

He's already up to "E".

......Banker? No. ......Cosgrove? No .....Diaco? No ......Eiler? No.

Mickey will be on staff in any situation
If true, I’m not sure I like the optics of that. If MJ succeeds and wins 8 or 9 games, that’s great: he might be the best candidate for the full-time gig. But if he doesn’t, then it’s going to handcuff us fairly significantly if they’re telling the incoming coach who he has to have on staff.

How funny would it be if Joseph's first move as coach would be to fire chin?

Trev."uh, you're not allowed to do that Mickey.

Watch me.
Apparently he’s got a green light on assistants. I can’t imagine anybody getting a pink slip other than Chin

Mickey is a recruiter, can you read?

A lot of schools have position coaches who are great recruiters but not necessarily great position coaches.

Lot of guys can coach a position, not all coaches can reel in the talent.

So we’re still on page 1 of this thread discussing the rumored opening for interim DC, and we already have a couple of absolutely dead serious suggestions that Ed Orgeron and former HC then ran out of town Bo Pelini should be contacted and considered as potential replacements. And the NE fan base for the life of them just can’t figure out why so many other teams’ fan bases love to come over to this site. Lmao.
Every fanbase has its share of idiots. I mean, look at you for example.

Since we're already a clown show I'd take a risk and make Busch the DC. I know for a fact we'd get some more aggressive schemes.

Thinking about it more, I think a move like that would make more sense following the OU game, with a bye week after.

I'm not a Chinander fan (who is) but I think MJ could do lot of good by just making the defense compete in practice. They're clearly soft. Full pads all week, focus on tacking and find guys who want to be physical. Why do Iowa and Wisconsin always have good defenses? Because they practice like that.

I don’t think that would be the case if Mickey isn’t the hire

Trev literally said it’s his call to make.

What, you think the new HC, like a Bill O’Brian or someone, is going to go “aw darn it! I wish he wouldn’t have fired Chins. He was going to be my DC! Now what do I do :(

On Husker site it lists Mickey as Interim Head Coach, and still has Chin listed as DC.
Yes. But if you listened to the PC, Trev said, just like he told Scott, he told MJ it’s his team to run. He won’t meddle but he will give him whatever support he needs. He said MJ already told the team there will be changes made. I’m sure, if letting Chins go is one of those changes, it’ll be announced first, then they’ll be removed from the list.

Interesting. MJ can probably make some improvements on the offensive side and rally the overall team.
But changing out the defensive coordinator and installing a new defensive scheme seems like too much to handle mid-season.

Maybe he's bringing in his brother Vance....he got lit up by the Chiefs today, the Cards might want him out

There can be tweaks made to the D that will improve it. It doesn’t have to be wholesale changes. We have people on staff already that can help.
I’m not sure what the possibility is of brining someone in in a “Consultant” or “Advisor” role would be, but I think they could do that.

Unfortunately you can’t fire both a coordinator and HC. That would really be difficult. But if I was Mickey I would call Ed Orgeron and see if he’d take a job as Defensive analyst. Lots of HC who are out of football like taking these jobs. Let’s them be in it all without having to put in a zillion hours.

and if I were Mickey I’d tell Ed to keep an eye on Chin obviously and also Dawson.

finding help at WR coach maybe difficult… You go with Ron Brown I guess

maybe also ask Ruud to step down. See if Busch could pull double time
Hire Adam Carriker as interim DC. He has the fire in his belly!
