I doubt Mickey can make that call without Trev’s blessing but it’s an obvious action.
Unfortunately you can’t fire both a coordinator and HC. That would really be difficult. But if I was Mickey I would call Ed Orgeron and see if he’d take a job as Defensive analyst. Lots of HC who are out of football like taking these jobs. Let’s them be in it all without having to put in a zillion hours.
and if I were Mickey I’d tell Ed to keep an eye on Chin obviously and also Dawson.

Firing Chins isn't gonna make our D any faster or better tacklers. We suck. But can't hurt I guess.

i believe he’s at least got an audition. If he shapes up this clown show and gets us to a bowl it would be problematic to not retain him

So we’re still on page 1 of this thread discussing the rumored opening for interim DC, and we already have a couple of absolutely dead serious suggestions that Ed Orgeron and former HC then ran out of town Bo Pelini should be contacted and considered as potential replacements. And the NE fan base for the life of them just can’t figure out why so many other teams’ fan bases love to come over to this site. Lmao.
Mary Pat is lukewarm after the Bo/player shakedown, but says Bo's on the plane in Youngstown, gotta make a quick trip into Columbus rehab to scoop up Carl, then Lincoln for orientation.
They all know their status is tenuous. Man somehow keeping Mickey on board would be huge for player retention even if it was in an assistant capacity

MJ has his hands full. Will have HC duties outside of coaching, has his position duties....and needs to address D. I am wondering if he will have someone resume his position duties ie Ron Brown....so he can focus on D. If Chin is gone....who can really take over and make the changes needed? At this point MJ's best sounding board for D change....may be Trev.
