Dan Mullen
Lane Kiffen
Tom Herman
Jeff Monken
Chris Klieman
The best coaches that I think would accept the job if offered.
Like Mississippi has top shelf hookers?Probably not any good ones…
No. Would not fit/be happy here. He probably would take a payday thoughWhat to people think of Mullen? I think he still is a good coach. You just need someone as DC or OC who is in charge of recruiting.

I think we want a coach to stay more than 2 yearsKiffen would be fun. Even scheduling four OOC cupcakes, Mississippi will struggle to hit ten wins in that division.
Actually, we haven’t been the same since the last of Osborne’s recruits were gone. Solich is the one who inherited a Lamborghini and drove it into the ditch. Our downfall began with him.Maybe Frank Solich put a hex on Nebraska when he was fired. We have never been the same since.
Pelini also inherited some pretty good talent and he left the cupboard bare when he got canned.Actually, we haven’t been the same since the last of Osborne’s recruits were gone. Solich is the one who inherited a Lamborghini and drove it into the ditch. Our downfall began with him.

Lol, just fried chicken and french fry eaters.Like Mississippi has top shelf hookers?
Considering we had been on top for so many years there was no where to go but down. Still had a far better record than our two recent coaches at Nebraska.Actually, we haven’t been the same since the last of Osborne’s recruits were gone. You are delusional if you think Urban would be even remotely interested. We are delusional if we turn down a chance to get Urban.
You are delusional if you think Urban would be even remotely interested.
Daddy issuesAnd you have serious mental issues if you are an Iowa fan posting on a Nebraska message board day after day.
I agree with this but its still fun to dreamYou are delusional if you think Urban would be even remotely interested.

"Assuming" Frost gets axed. I look at it as if Meyer is hired, right off the bat he brings in "his" strength guy and likely loads up on 4 and 5* talent with NIL money. Meyer has NU reversed by year 2 for sure.Rhule or Urban have to be the first choices. If you want NU to come back you have to get a turn-key winner, not a development project that you are once again rolling the dice. There are a few out there, but Urban or Rhule immediately will make NU a winner within 2 years.
I would start with Meyer and work down from there. Fickell would be my next call."Assuming" Frost gets axed. I look at it as if Meyer is hired, right off the bat he brings in "his" strength guy and likely loads up on 4 and 5* talent with NIL money. Meyer has NU reversed by year 2 for sure.
Rhule is more of a corporate chainsaw. He makes a gazillion moves in personnel and likely has kids playing where they belong. Helluva coach, can turn this thing around in 2-3 years, but he's always looking for that greener grass.
Aranda, I think, right off the bat says "We will start by fixing this defense and a lot of focus will be on that side of the ball. As a head coach you can move him out of the DC position, but you can't take the defensive mindset from this guy."
Aranda, Don’t see Meyer wanting the Nebraska job when he didn’t have any interest when Pederson was about to fire Solich..I would start with Meyer and work down from there. Fickell would be my next call.
I think people scratch him off the list because it is just assumed that nothing could dislodge him from NW. But who knows? If he has an ounce of ambition then he must know that there is a ceiling for NW football and he has reached it. He might just want a shot at a program where he can make a legit run for a national title. I do not know if Nebraska is still such a program but I think it is.fitzgerald
Lane Kiffin would be incredibleI think people scratch him off the list because it is just assumed that nothing could dislodge him from NW. But who knows? If he has an ounce of ambition then he must know that there is a ceiling for NW football and he has reached it. He might just want a shot at a program where he can make a legit run for a national title. I do not know if Nebraska is still such a program but I think it is.
I have told a lot of friends that if I were Trev, Fitz would be #1 on my list and they just laugh. Once again... that assumption that he would never leave NW, especially for a team in the B1G where he would have to coach against them. But as I said... who knows?
I also think Lane Kiffen is an interesting candidate. He has a ton of baggage, most of it not good, but he has a Nebraska link via his dad and he might want to get out of the brutal SEC and into a somewhat less competitive league. At the very least, he would be a bit of a "splash" hire that might generate some mojo in our recruiting.
Rhule is interesting and would be a home run hire, but if he has a good season this year in the NFL I doubt he leaves.
Aranda would also be a great hire but I just do not know that much about him and base that assessment on his current success.

Fitzgerald makes some questionable decisions on game days much like Scott Frost. His overall record is 110-90. Not that impressive.I think people scratch him off the list because it is just assumed that nothing could dislodge him from NW. But who knows? Not sold on Fickell and Meyer is a pipe dreamNo Meyer or Fickell for you?
I'm fine with moving on from Pelini, but implying he left the cupboard bare is silly. The 2015 team could have won a lot more games than they did. Last year was rough as far as close games, but 2015 also saw 6 games decided by a touchdown or less. Many were even bigger chokes than last year. Pelini won 9 games all seven seasons he was in Lincoln. No doubt he would have won 9 games with the 2015 team too.Pelini also inherited some pretty good talent and he left the cupboard bare when he got canned.
If Trev decides to go all in for a HC, let's start with Urban, then Luke, then Matt R., then Lane, then Matt C. Let's make a splash!Amazing for you Iowa fans.
I agree with everything you said except the last paragraph. If Trev decides to go all in for a HC, let's start with Urban, then Luke, then Matt R., then Lane, then Matt C. Let's make a splash!
The top jobs (Clemson, Penn St., USC, OU, tOSU, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, LSU, Florida and ND) are tied up for the foreseeable future, so if any of these guys are looking to make more money at a program with a lot of resources and fan support, NU is one of the best options remaining.
Having said this, I think Frost will be retained because he will win enough this year to satisfy Trev.
define "win enough"? The expectation should be much higher than just 6 wins and a bowl game. I really want to see solid football along with 8 wins. This is year 5. We should be on the cusp of competing for a Big 10 championship at this point. If Trev decides to go all in for a HC, let's start with Urban, then Luke, then Matt R., then Lane, then Matt C. What has Campbell done fo deserve consideration?I think Meyer is def possible. Fickle and Kiffin would be much harder to get in my opinion. I also like what Chadwell has done at Coastal Carolina. He's possible as well as maybe Campbell.
Basically, Nebraska is going to have a better shot with either up and coming guys, or guys who are just past their prime. To a guy in his prime, Nebraska doesn't seem like a good career move, mostly because it's a difficult job.
But it's still very attractive because of the league, the $, and exposure.. and for the guy who is trying to break in to the bigger picture or who wants to prove himself yet again (i.e. likes challenges) or I suppose to the guy who just needs the money.
he fits the up and coming guy that is at the wrong school in the wrong conference, that's allWhat has Campbell done fo deserve consideration?
