I’d have to disagree. I think Beard, Wright, Drew and Musselman would also be a step up for Kentucky RIGHT NOW. You can argue Cal was better a decade ago, but I’m not sure he is right now.
His half court slow down offense is atrocious.
A cross between Tubbyball and Cal dribble and throw it up or turn it over offense.
Holtmann isn’t impresive after looking at his record. He hasn’t had a season with less than 9 losses, and has never been to the Sweet Sixteen at OSU.
Stevens or Donovan are dream hires. Drew, Oats, Musselman, Beard, Wright.
When Stevens and Donovan hang up on you, you look at Pearl and Drew. If one of those don't work out, you call Oats, Muss, and maybe Beard.
We'd have to get turned down circa UK FB when they hired Rich Brooks to get down to Holtmann.
Everything is a gamble.
The only sure thing is that we will never win another title if Cal stays.
Jay Wright isn't leaving Nova and I hope to god that Nate Oats isn't in the discussion when Cal leaves.

The fans that want Calipari fired are not going to be happy with whoever they hire because there is no guarantee that the next coach will get you a final four either.
The man has his faults no doubt but I’ll take my chances with Calipari until his heart isn’t into it anymore and he moves on.

The bottom line is if cal were to go barney cannot be the one to make the next hire. This is why he needs to go now. We know we will need a new coach in the next couple years and holtmann would be a disgrace compared to the coaches that are out there.

I like everyone on this list except for Donovan. I know I might not make sense, but I don't want him because he turned us down twice before. To me that was like sticking his finger in our faces. Snubbing us. Obviously, I didn't like that. But there are other good candidates out there, like this list.

They wish he was leaving. Everyone of these posters wanting Calipari gone think that Wright, Few or Donovan would be ready to take this job and now that are naming NBA coaches that are with pretty good NBA teams. No one is happy right now but some of these threads are just crazy. Maybe the media should do a story on the UK fan base and our sense of entitlement.
None of the big, bad, anonymous internet posters would have the stones to call Cal out if they met him on an elevator. Heck the head basher, Gromclownsky would ask for his autograph since he's into getting auto's from grown men.

This is why I have ZERO confidence in Mitch Barnhart re:UK basketball. He's surrendered control of the program to Calipari since 2009 and the thought of him making the decision on who his replacement would be is scary at the very least!

If Scott Drew isn't near the top of Barnhart's list when the time rolls around to replace Calipari, then MB isn't capable of making the decision and should be excused from the process.

No one would call out CAL to his face his body guard would break you in half. Brad is a brown belt.
People laugh about that joke (so do I) but , I saw Dave Letterman ask Phil Jackson if he ever thought about coaching in college and Jackson said “yes” . Letterman said where and Jackson said “Kentucky “ . Doesn’t mean he was serious but I thought it was neat.
