When the time comes, how do you think a guy like Shaheen Holloway would do at UK?
Everyone always wants a big time name or someone within the program, but dudes like him can flat out coach. Their sets on offense and offense in general make it hard to guard. Mixing up defenses have been instrumental in their run.

*I’m not on here often. Sorry if his name has been mentioned.

Lol, this is how you get a BCG and a Tom Crean. Guy does something one time and you want to give him keys to Camelot? Crazy. Give me someone with multiple final fours.
I didn’t say I wanted him. I said how do you think he would do.

How about the DII coach from NW Missouri St.

His team is an underdog today in the DII title game, but if they win that would make 3 straight DII titles and 4 of the last 5.

Interesting side note. Joe B Hall coached in their league at one time. Central Mo St iirc.

Uodate: they lead by 11 at the half. They have a junior pg who would look good in blue. More of a shooting pg than penetrator assist guy. Has 22 at the half including 4 3s. Career 47% from 3. Commentators say K has said he could play anywhere.

But I’m not sure that’s correct. Kentucky is not for everybody

Based upon forum's requirements, we will never have another coach. Once ANY coach loses their next game and they will, we say well let's not hire them. Even Coach K loses.

They were ranked 216 in offense according to KenPom. They were 263rd in the nation in ppg…..their offense was not good almost all season.

They are playing great basketball right now. But he generally speaking, taking a small snippet of a teams season will get you in trouble when hiring a coach.

Not to rag on this guys coaching because his team has kicked butt, but you do realize they weren't a 15 seed for no reason. Think they've lost like 12 games. Thank being said Cal pulled another of his choke jobs.

Where is Kevin Ollie these days?
He is coaching at Overtime Elite.

Yeah, I get it. I just like to wonder what a guy like Holloway would do with a team like we had this year. They run some pretty sick actions for a mid major. He runs out of bounds plays also, which Cal doesn’t. 🤷‍♂️

We see a coach win a few games and we want them. We forget their regular season record.
They win we want them and then they lose and we don’t want them. See the problem?

So you want a guy with one good season? This is desperation just throwing any name out that's on a hot streak. What if he has a losing record next year?

Amd don't say bit think about all he'd have here...well he's had mid major players and lost a lot of games against mid major players.

He's on a really good run right now, no doubt, but no to this guy

Even if a small-program or mid-major coach knew the Xs and Os well enough to coach a power-5 basketball team, he still might not be a great candidate. A program with the tradition, budget, and limelight of Kentucky’s requires a bunch of other skill sets. You need a candidate with experience on a big stage of some sort and/or you need to build a support apparatus around him.

I didn’t say I wanted him. It was just a hypothetical question of how people think he would do here. Someone is going to take a chance on him, and I look forward to seeing it play out.

I love how that’s everyone’s go to these days with Triple C. Why would you want to get rid of HOF Coach. That has to be the most overblown award that a coach can get!
You know I wasn't talking about Cal right?

I was talking about the totally overblown coaches that everyone jumps on their jock when they get hot once. Years later they are like, "who?".

Yes I know. I’m saying exactly that about Triple C it’s an overblown award that a lot like to use in here when talking about getting rid of him as the head coach! “ Why do you want to get rid of a HOF coach”

Exactly!!!

You have to be proven, over time. I would say 5 years of success minimum.
And at UK it is more than Xs and Os.

Absolutely. This is UK and they don't have to hire the flavor of the month.
