Since I haven't changed much at all since 2015 and you have lost your mind, it won't be me with a difficulty adjusting to a better politics. Hopefully Rs return there in the 2028 primaries, but if not desperation will be high in 2032 for a winner (usually someone less crazy).
Sorry, bud, the reflection from the Bronze mirror doesn’t negate the fact that you will be voting for people who you totally oppose and totally oppose you.

I’ve voted for McCain multiple times plus Romney. The fact that you get your panties bent out of shape when you don’t get your way is a YOU problem.

I have never liked McCain, yet i voted for him in several generals since he was the better choice.

Funny how the unstable Trump haters believe that others can’t adapt. Honestly, my R primary choices have rarely prevailed and that includes Trump in 2016 who was not my first choice.

Good luck to you. Enjoy the World Cup games that Trump was able to secure for America.

The US was a lock to get the 2026 WC after it didn’t get 2022 (likely due to bribery). Trump had nothing to do with it.

You are right, I won’t vote for reality TV con artists. You worship them. We aren’t in the same ballpark, and I don’t think my ideas are winning under any Admin at this point.

All candidates are flawed and imperfect. The best one can hope for is to get the candidate that will build a cabinet and policies a voter can more align with. We all saw how dangerous the last administrations policies were. Money was shoveled out the door to D causes while innocent people were hurt and killed. The only thing weaker than their domestic policy was their attempt at FP.

These people have never heard of Nolan Ryan. BTW, the radar today at the stadiums pick up the ball out of the hand. Of course these pitchers are throwing harder than radar picking the ball up near the plate.

Speaking of Nolan, He and his wife play golf and hang out with my neighbors at our club. A great Texan.

I think we have limited handle on the Dem field right now. I don’t see Harris as a serious option or Mayo Pete as a winner.

Rubio is a solid A candidate. RDS would be a really solid Prez and a decent candidate. Vance is electoral poison but is the current fave.
Minus a poor finish to the Trump administration, any of these three Rs would beat any of the three Dems. The motivated Dem voters appear to have moved to the far left. I do not believe they will march out a reasonable candidate.

Wrong again, a deal had to be made and that deal was add Mexico and Canada to get the votes for 2026, Trump being buds with the head of FIFA sealed the deal.

You “worship” a B-grade movie star who I also love.

Not in the same ballpark? Right and wrong. Right because I am attending double the WC games you are and wrong because you will likely be in the same ballpark as me in a matter of hours. Look for me, I’ll be wearing Orange.

Amazing how deluded you are. No other politician comes close to matching Trump as "flawed and imperfect". His cabinet is the most incompetent clowns of any President. They are also the most corrupt. He chose undying loyalty over competence and belief in the Constitution. His policies are hideous, only cult followers would think they are good. First day he commutes and paroles all of the January 6 insurrectionists, puts a couple into positions of power and now wanting to pay millions to the others. You like that? About the tariffs which are bankrupting our farmers. Selling out to Putin and failing to give our mothballed equipment or funds to Ukraine? Lifting the oil embargo on Russia because of the stupid war he started. Lets look at the unnecessary war with Iran. No one believes they were close to a nuclear weapon, not even Trump as he "obliterated" their assets last year. Then he claims he won the war on day one, but it is now what 3 months later. They forgot to secure the Strait because he is an incompetent and Hegseth is an incompetent clown. We lost a war to a third rate power and can't even get a MOU that leaves all of the issues to be worked out months from now. Oh yeah, we are paying Iran about one hundred times the $2billion of Iran's funds that Obama paid to Iran. Trump destroyed Obama's Treaty with Iran and can not come close to the International oversight and security it offered. Will Trump send the $200,000,000 on pallets?Trump meets with Xi and is ready to sell out Taiwan. I can see why you like his policies.

Geez, Trump captures Maduro and takes control of Venezuela and their oil, eliminates Ayatollah and mullah plus their backups, and is about to free Cuba and you are very naturally upset.

You act as if Obama did anything positive for the country and world. He intentionally screwed everything up. I remember when he fixed healthcare and .now liberals are actively killing and supporting the murder of a healthcare CEO.

I would love to have my flawed pre - Obamacare healthcare back! Good riddance libs and keep crying.

Why do you and your party support NAZIs? I know why.

Gavin Newsome had that case of balls palsy when he disappeared to Mexico.

A friend also got it.

Bell’s palsy.

You believe that COVID wasn’t real because the population continued to grow. You believe the vaccine is the clot shot, death jab, etc. despite the population continuing to grow.

Imagine letting this consume so much of your time.

Your hero hasn’t talked about any of this. What a leader.

EU Immigration: Last week I posted that once in the EU, any "legal" resident can move to any country they want if they get employed. (not sure how strict the enforcement)

Switzerland is voting on a bill to restrict the size of their total population to 10 million - because it has been growing so fast and 27% of the population are now non Swiss. They have a good economy and the side against the bill say the EU would retaliate and restrict their commerce with the rest of the member countries.

We do this in the US with people moving to Texas and Florida (and AZ if we can get water) all the time but for Europe it seems like if you go to visit Paris the people should be French. Over time it looks like that will be changing although they still have the individual languages so if they are speaking French maybe we won't be able to tell the difference.

I know they are not. "The war is over" Rubio killed his credibility by becoming a Trump minion, and I believe ANYONE associated with Trump or his Administration, including Rubio and Vance has no future in politics on a National level. Those in Florida realize that RDS has no chance. His policies are not popular here, even though he has a supermajority in the Legislature. Like Trump, he has surrounded himself with incompetent fools like the Surgeon General that did away with all vaccines. Board of Education that is busy banning books and ruining Universities. RDS' move to eliminate property taxes is hated by 2/3 of Republicans as he has not suggested an alternative source of revenue, and it will destroy counties and municipal government. All here realize that he lacks the political skills to become President, think Walker from Wisconsin. TDS lacks charisma, is the opposite of a people person. I think the next President will be a Democrat and probably a Governor. Trump has destroyed the Republican chances.

If you were here couple of weeks ago, @dtrain79 posted about the margin of RDS victories in FL. I was quite substantial.

The RDS plan may be different than what you are stating. Try this...

Yes, Ron DeSantis (often abbreviated as RDS) has been pushing a major property tax relief plan specifically for Florida homeowners with homesteaded primary residences. What the Plan Involves
  • Homestead exemption increase: It raises Florida’s current $50,000 homestead exemption (for owner-occupied primary homes) to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028 (with inflation adjustments). This would eliminate (non-school) property taxes for roughly 60% of homesteaded Florida homes, according to DeSantis and supporters.
  • Path to full elimination: The proposal directs the Legislature (via general law) to create a schedule for gradually raising the exemption further—potentially to $500,000 or full value—aiming toward eliminating property taxes on homesteaded primary homes entirely over time. DeSantis has framed it as eventually making taxes “tax-free” for the vast majority (he’s cited up to 92%) of Florida residents living in their own homes.
  • Who qualifies: This is limited to Florida residents with homesteaded properties (primary residences). It does notapply to second homes, vacation rentals, commercial properties, or non-homesteaded homes. Newer residents may face additional requirements (e.g., a multi-year residency period in some versions).

To be fair your views are consistent and you don't just dislike Trump. It is all Rs and their policies.

Based on the policies you believe in, you should walk the talk and move to Chicago, LA, or NYC. Have you considered that?

That is one recent "compromise" proposal, as his desired plan, complete elimination of property tax, is not acceptable to any one. He struggled to get any plan to put on the ballot. What you are unaware of by hitting Google to get your knowledge is the larger Florida framework. Under the Florida Constitution counties, local government obtain their revenue thru property taxes. The state is prohibited from utilizing property taxes. RDS proposal eliminates local governments' revenue source while leaving the state's tax revenue untouched. THERE IS NO PROPOSAL FOR A REPLACEMENT TO THE PROPERTY TAXES HE SEEKS TO ELIMINATE. That essential local revenue is completely absent from all of his proposals. This is part of a larger move of his to cripple local government "Home Rule" and to transfer all power, land use, development growth etc... to Tallahassee.
As to the margin of victories, his first election's margin was very small, I believe less than 50,000 votes. His reelection was about 10% due to the complete death of the Florida Democratic party. RDS' popularity, or lack thereof, is apparent on the ground in Florida.

You MAGA cultists are hopeless. You don't move to a place due to politics. You move because of education, employment, family commitments etc...
I wouldn't move to LA as it is too crowded and high stress. They ruined paradise as they are well on the way to doing in Florida. NYC similarly too crowded, high stress not my type of people. Chicago is my type of people but too high stress and crowded. There are other spots in Illinois I wouldn't hesitate to move to if not for commitments. I love New England and would move there in a minute if not for commitments.
I take it by your change of subject that you can't claim Trump Policies are good for country. You see they are embarrassing and harmful to best interests of U.S. Good for you there is hope.

Rill, this has been a good year for us in terms of rainfall. The ranchers will love it. Although the screw worm is here  .

Been planting less and less down there in recent years. Good to see a brief period of rain. Several posters on this site seem completely unaware that farmers and ranchers are growing significantly less food than they were in the past. And it’s due to lack of water.

This doesn’t make me feel any better about adding a couple more million people in Arizona.

Imagine voting to ruin all of the things that you profess to value. You Democrat communists will be rounded up and executed by the very people you vote into office once you have helped destroy the last pockets of freedom. Kind of like that stupid woman in Iran in 1979 who helped overthrow the Shah only to be executed within years.

Stuck on stupid is the phrase that comes to mind.

FDR was horse ****.
I didn't say he was a good person.

He died at Hot Springs having a portrait partially completed. In attendance; the painter, and his mistress of TWENTY years.

He worked Congress very well with for the most part razor thin margins.
