That didn't take long. Good for them. I was worried/hoping they wouldn't have a coach in place until after NSD.

Pretty obvious they've been planning this for a while. Just needed to get that report from the law firm giving them what they needed to fire Pruitt for cause.

So they would rather risk burning the program down by hampering recruiting for a few years via NCAA sanctions/investigation than just pay the dude some money? This doesn’t seem like a good financial decision for UT. You hate to see it.

I think the problem was not so much the cheating, but still sucking even after cheating.

They need “Forever Rebels” or whatever that network is called to show them how to cheat good enough to get 2 straight New Years 6 Bowls even if they get caught.

How are they burning the program down and hampering recruiting? They were already getting busted anyway or they wouldn't have done this. But if they fired the coach before pinning the blame on him personally, they'd have to pay the buyout.

I understand that, but why not just say “here’s $10 million, resign nicely”. Would’ve probably been easier and cheaper in the long run than what they are about to deal with.

They will now have to deal with a pissed off ex-coach during an NCAA investigation. That will not be good for them.

What's he going to do? Again, they're getting busted anyway. Worst case, the more he tells the NCAA what he knows, the more unemployable he makes himself and the less chance of winning any lawsuit to get his buyout. But really, they'll wind up settling with him soon enough and he won't say a word.

Right, and I would’ve just done that from the beginning and had a less pissed off ex-employee testifying or choosing to not testify.

Maybe the $40,000,000 revenue hit they just took had something to do with it. Don't worry, it's not in Pruitt's best interests to make public any more than has already been made public.

He has been busting P5 programs that UCF is on their level and will only accept home and home series. UCF new AD should should immediately request a home and home publicly with UT on Twitter just for the sport of it. If they agree, great....if not Danny boy can have fun w/ the backlash
